Alternator/Battery problems from audio

I finally decided to upgrade my sub to a 12" kicker L7 and will be pushing 750RMS at 1 ohm and am also about to get the UR underdrive crank pulley. I unfortunately have a crappy Delphi alternator and oem battery with 50k on it now. I was wondering 1) will the alternator hold up from the pulley and system? 2) will the battery hold up? 3) does it only put strain on battery and alternator only in idle? 4) is there any reason not to do this setup of sub an pulley?

ok here is what i did, i have a system with 1800 watts, the stock alternators suck big fat ass, and everyone will agree, i had a serious problem that when i would come to a stop light my lights and voltage would drop to 11 volts and that was with an optima battery with 1000 cracking amps and 800 cca. solution was to get a higher amp alternator that would give higher amps at idle, not like those high output alternators that only give high amps at high rpms. so i went out and got an alternator out of an odyssey which comes stock with a 130 amp alternator. this cost me $35 and since mini vans require more amps at idle or low rpms it was the perfect choice. i have no regrets about putting it in and it was installed with no modification except for lenghtening the green plug. any questions feel free to ask, hope this helps

750W isnt a whole lot, your alternator should be able to handle it ok, even with the pulley... But, the oddy alternators are built better, and should be more reliable. But i wouldnt put it in until this one blows...

Thats true but at the same time, i was thinking if its a bolt on i might as well get the oddy one and have it installed same time as pulley not to pay twice and keep this delphi as a spare, also not to have to deal with it later because these delphi arent reliable especially with pulley and 750 rms. In general its fine but in idle itll be draining power. So if i was able to get the alt for under 50 and install it i think its worth not having to come back to it later. I just stil need someone to confirm its a direct bolt on.

Bringing it back from the dead...

Will the oddy alternator work for my system? I have a JL 1000/1 running a JL 13W7. Or would I need something bigger? This looks like a good cheap upgrade if it'll work....can anyone chime in please. Thanks!

If not, where can I purchase a good one?

Yes it will, the Oddyssey Denso alternator works on all of the AV6's I believe.

Just trying to confirm...

I have a '03 accord sedan v6 automatic with the system previously stated installed. I was going to purchase a honda odyssey alternator today and put it in this weekend but I need to know what year odyssey will work?

01-03
04-06

I've located a '04 odyssey alternator at a local recycling place for $80. I'm going to purchase it today if I can get an answer today.

Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Go for it, it will fit. You may have to play with the wire harness a little, but it will fit.

I've recently installed an 2003 Odyssey alternator. So I know up to this year it fits in our v6 accords. Again just a reminder you may or may not have to extend the wire harness by about 2 inches.

Thanks for the quick replies!

I guess I'll give it a try and pray it works!

Oh...one more question...would it matter if it's a EX, LX etc? Or are they all the same amps?
