2005 BMW 545i E60 SMG

Name: Andrew
Location: NOVA
Means of contact: PM me
Price: $18,837 $18000 $17,500 OBO PRICE IS OBO $17500 NEED GONE.

Description: 2005 BMW 545i E60. 67200 miles. V8 engine. Clean title. SMG transmission. Front tires about 5/32, rear about 6/32 Michelins. Titanium Gray Metallic exterior, black interior. 2 Original keys. All manuals are there. VA emissions and safety inspection completed two weeks ago. Power steering fluid and coolant has been replaced. Brakes are good for another 30k miles, oil good for another 15k miles (synthetic oil change on 2/8/12), engine intake and cabin air filters replaced (have receipt). Car has the sport and cold weather package. Xenon headlights. I have an additional air filter and two cabin filters I will throw in with the car from the dealer. Has parking sensors and factory 18in wheels.

Engine Size: 4.4L/268
Horsepower: 325 @ 6100 RPM
Torque: 330 @ 3600 RPM
Drive Train: Rear Wheel Drive

Took great care of the car. Parents want me to sell it and find an Acura or Lexus. I still have the 6th gen sitting around that I can drive until I find an Acura or Lexus. No liens or loans. Title is in hand.

Car is rated "very good" condition by KBB and it's valued at $20,140. I'm asking below "good" condition. The $18,837 price is my break-even price after completing all the services, paying dealer fees, etc. The price is OBO, I am willing to lower a few hundreds and take a loss on this car just because my parents needs a new car soon and they aren't comfortable with the SMG nor do they like driving the old 6th gen.

Car will be fully detailed before handing over the keys and title too.

Pictures:
I drove it to NY for my parents to see the car, they don't like it.. This is the drive up to NY. Good gas mileage for a V8 (that includes the hour of traffic sitting on Belt Pkwy)

Yeahhhh, that's the sad part about it. Only had it for three weeks and counting. My parents want me to sell it, so I'm not going to argue with them and just let it go..

Damn Andrew, good luck with the sale. What you plan on getting? Maybe it would of been better to have stuck with the accord. Do you plan on having payments again as well?

06/07 TL, IS250 AWD, or another 7th gen v6 . I never financed any of my cars. After two months of not finding a car, I thought to myself, should have kept the accord. darnnnit. I loved what I done to the accord, but the 4cylinder was getting on my nerve.

If the current owner puts it back on the market, I will indeed buy it back from him but much lower. I've seen his past driving records. lol.

its crazy how fast BMW's depreciate. I was searching for a 05-06 750li for my dad and they go for 20k-26k.

Pretty crazy considering these cars stickered for 85k+ when new

How is maintenance on yours? I have heard SMG tranny's are extremely pricey on the M cars and people say never to buy em out of warranty (same goes for AMG's, R type jags etc). Is it the same for regular models? I casually browse beamer forums but don't know too much about em.

Maintenance is not too bad. I did the oil change, changed the filters (engine/cabin), power steering fluid, and coolant all in the same day. Haven't had any problems with it. A tech I know that works for BMW told me the SMG is a hit or miss. Either it has many problems within the first 10k miles when it's driven off the lot brand new or it's going to be problem free over 100k miles. There is no transmission service for the SMG (Parts Manager at Passport BMW). On the M cars, there's a controller that allows you to adjust the power of the SMG, but on the regular 5 series, they didn't add that option, so there's no messing around with the SMG computer. Mess around with that and you're going to have problems.

The Carfax report shows that the previous owner took care of the car, services were completed at the dealer. When I bought this car, I made sure there was previous services completed cause they can get really expensive in the long run.

If my parents didn't want me to sell this car, I would have started modding it already. It hurts when you get bit by the mod bug. haha.
