Hey, I'm interested- how's the tone? Are they loud? Any pics from the back?

As you already know- I'm local.

I just paid $265 for two Thermal R&D axel-backs on Ebay. Old style with two 3" tips on each muffler but that was what I was looking for.

They are really quiet at idle but they sound really nice when you jump on it. They do tend to drone a bit at highway speeds but the longer I drive with 'em it's becoming less & less noticeable.

These are the only axle-backs I've owned so I can't compare them to anything else.

Excellent fit & excellent quality. Mine have the Thermal R&D logo laser etched on each tip but I can't tell if these large single tips are laser etched.

You can't go wrong with these, grab 'em!!

Don't see much THermal R&D stuff on Ebay so I figured there wouldn't be much action 'cause everyone would be bidding on the universal fit coffee cans that are cheap & probably sound the same.

I was cruisin' along real good, min bid was $200 for both axel-backs so I bid $240 & let Ebay proxy bid for me. In the last minute someone started bidding the price up but I had another browser opened so I was ready to up the ante.

I upped my bid to $266.66 & I would have lost out if the auction had gone another 15 seconds.

I don't like doing the sniper thing ... bid what you think is fair & screw that last minute stuff.

well i dont have a digital camera, but they are thermal r&d.
they have the laser etching on each of the tips.

the system has been removed from my car and is ready for sale.

the system for me is quiet, but when you get on it, it becomes deep and more noticeable.

for my setup i only had a injen sri and the mufflers, thats all.
i was told if i were to remove the pre-muffler the sound would become louder.

any more questions please let me know

CFOREZ has dibbs so far, if he doesnt come through ill let everyone know

here is a pic of the system new, from thermal, just for reference.

the first pic i used makes the mufflers look yellow, they are not! they still look silver like the new ones only used.

[EDIT FROM BORINKA99 - Please don't attach pics, if you want to show pics, upload them to a different site and use the IMG tags. Or if a pic is already from another web site, just get the URL (http://www.site.com/pic.jpg) and use the img tags. I saved the pic if you need it, just pm me if you don't have it saved]
