Off-topic, but which jack is that? Looks similar to my aluminum racing jack but bigger & nicer.

Nice stuff for sale, shouldn't be too long before they're all sold.

Its the one from Costco. ARCAN ALJ3T. 3-ton Aluminum racing jack. Works great with low-profile cars.

The body shop (Sturken Auto Body in San Jose) bought these from a local shop. Quality wise they're pretty good, plastic is really glossy. They do not have a clear diffuser in the turn signal. Just a reflector, so you can see the bulb through the housing. The black plastic parts that you can see when you open the trunk to have a little bit of a shine as opposed to a matte finish. If that might answer your question.

I've owned many many sets of these tail lights, I've been rear ended enough times to go through them a few times.

didn't having just the beefy rear sway create a risky set up?

heh i doubt that's what caused his accident, but maybe he should mention what was the nature of the accident.

it's debated but having a large diameter sway in the back and stock in the front is considered to induce a less favorable suspension geometry. uhh, in another words, they say it causes oversteer. Project car magazine last issue said that this is good in track cars but not recommended for street use, in an article on a nissan budget track car they were making.

most accord owners only upgrade their rear sway and don't have much if any issues, so i dunno.

Well aren't the stock 6th gen front sway bars thicker than the rear ones to begin with? Also, I think the 6th gen coupes have thicker fronts than the sedans as well.

The wreck was caused by a steering lock up during a left turn. Steering was locked left during the exit causing the car to skid and nail the curb of the freeway junction. Car hopped over and into a field. The impact on the curb caused the front subframe to bend inwards and blowing both airbags. I missed a tree by 10ft and a tree stump by 5ft. Tree would have stopped me, tree stump would have sent me airborne.

Anyways, soon to be proud owner of a 2003 Black BMW M3 Coupe.

yes, and yes.. but look it's all relative. You are still upgrading beyond what the factory specs were on only the rear end. If I were you I'd suggest looking up the thread that discusses installing the TL rear sway bar, they discuss this possible issue there.

Ya, i've already read that thread awhile ago. I have all the part #'s which cost about 50-60 from the Acura dealership. Just a matter of ordering them since they're not that expensive.

So what was it like having the 24mm rear sway bar on but with stock front sway bar?

Also, how do i service or maintain my steering wheel or whatever so that it doesn't also lock up when i'm on the highway and....

It was actually pretty fun. But seriously it was more fun having the car at -1.5 deg camber in the rears. That set up ate up my stock tires quick, but mannnnn that was nice. So the bar is a cheaper way of getting that kind of handling.

Service? No idea. A prayer before you start the car?

When you had the camber in the rear, did you have it at least aligned so that the toe is correct? I've read that's the magic step to saving your tires but don't really believe it lol.

So are you saying our cars are just bound to get their steering locked up? I'm sure there is some way to take care of the assembly to prevent this. Or at least i wish I knew what to look for to assess the condition of mine..it's just scary. good thing you were okay. got any pics of the totaled car? I don't think prayers are gonna save me lol.

Aristotle, (and whoever else is wondering)

The 24mm sway bar is GREAT. No, it does not induce any scary oversteer at all. I've never been caught off guard by my car's "turn-in" since I installed it. I love it, it makes the car SOOO much more neutral in steering and cornering roll.

Get it. You won't regret it. It fits ALL 98-02 accords. 2dr and 4dr.
