E6750 is discontinued and it holds market value from a whiiiiilllleeee back as new from most retail. You can get a brand new E7500 for cheaper than that, which is better.

Did you even get a chance to try out that zalman fan? I'm looking for a super quiet fan for my media center.

E7500 has faster clock speed (2.93ghz) but less L2 cache (3mb) and a slower front side bus (1066mhz). The E6750 has 4mb of L2 cache and a 1333mhz front side bus. So the E6750 is still a better processor.

Bump for you sir.

I hate posting OT and messing up the thread but that is WRONG statement.

Yes, E7500 is missing 1mb L2 cache along with lower FSB but it still beats E6750 in benchmark test by far (although real world difference may be negligible imo). Marginal benefit from 0.3GHz clock speed is larger than marginal loss from less cache/FSB. The performance gap becomes even larger if you plan to overclock. E7500 runs cooler and can overclock further than E6750.

anyway, GLWS. I think your best bet would be ebay. Used CPU parts tend to sell higher there even after fees.

^^^^^^ haha I also said the real world difference may be negligible. geez.

E6750 indeed is a good CPU and the Zalman fan is great as well. In fact, one of my home PCs is running on E6750 and my work computer has the same Zalman fan. (matched w/ E6600, first gen conroe ftw!)
I just to make it clear that E7500 > E6750.

I don't know about 'super quiet' but it is pretty darn quiet. You can adjust its rpm to your taste.
