RL 4-pot Advics calipers and custom brackets! Fits 6th/7th gen Accord, Acura CL/TL!

Hey everyone,

Up for sale are Acura RL calipers off a 2006. These calipers are HUGE, 4-pot calipers.

I bought these a couple weeks back from a Junk Yard, the calipers have about 35k on them (according the the junk yard). After buying them, I contacted Paul (NVA-AV6) for the custom brackets. The plan was to actually send them to Paul to get the calipers powdercoated and rebuilt. Just for reference, these calipers DO NOT need to be rebuilt, I was doing it more for looks (the rubber seals don't like 400F from the powdercoating lol). These were never installed on the car.

Looking to get what I paid back. I bought the calipers for $225, and the bracket from Paul for $140. So $365 plus shipping.

Both calipers..

Close up of bracket, all bolts needed for the bracket are also included..

And here's a PM from Paul saying the brackets will fit the 6th gen Accord, 7th gen Accord, Acura CL/TL.

Thanks again for your help,
-Amar
TL/CL/6th gen are fine, not sure about the TSX

Also, here's the thread Paul created on here..
http://www.v6performance.net/forums/...d.php?t=191653

All you need now are the following:
-350z rotors (any make, you can even go to Advance Auto Parts and grab a cheap set, I was planning on getting some EBC Ultimax rotors in 12.6")
-RL Pads (I was gonna go with EBC red stuff or green stuff pads, no one else seems to make it for the RL)
-SS brake lines (I was gonna go with Stoptech)

If you have any questions at all please do not hesitate to ask. These calipers don't come by too often, so get them while you can!

-Amar

Haha, I actually put them in my 7th gen part out thread, but wasn't sure if they would fit other models. Now that Paul has confirmed, I figured I'd make a new thread.

Also, PMing you right now!

Thanks man! I am making absolutely no money on this sale, I really do wish I could have tried them out.

If they are 350z rotors, then they definitely should! If you're trying to re-use your Honda rotors, then unfortunately they will not work.

Hey everyone, I'll do it for $390 shipped in the continental US, this includes any PP fees, and if it does happen to be more, I'll cover the rest.

They bolt right up, the bracket gives the caliper enough clearance to sit properly and accept the 350z rotors.

Also, these will not clear 16" and under wheels! You will need 17" wheels, I was plannign on using a 10mm spacer on my wheels to clear them.

im interested in these but im not sure if they would fit my wheels.

They are 18x8 with 50 offset. I know its hard to know just by that if it would fit or not but if just trying to see if you might have a clue.

just curious what makes those brackets worth $140? looks like tapped and drilled aluminum bar stock that shouldnt cost more than $20 in materials.

if you will sell w/o the brackets, let me know.

You should be good with a 5mm spacer. The stock TL-S wheels are 17x8" with 45mm offset, and they clear the Calipers with no problem.

My plan was to go with TL-S wheels, but seems like everyone on Acurazine freaking want a grand for them! I don't even think they look that great lol.

It's what Paul charges to do it. He machined the parts himself, included all bolts and parts necessary, and pretty much pioneered the kit for us Honda folks.

I didn't have access or even know anyone that could machine these for me, so I paid to have peace of mind that everything would fit perfect...which it does!

At this time I'd rather sell as a package, sorry for the inconvenience.

Good luck trying to find a 20 dollar piece of aluminum that will be sturdy enough to hold a brake caliper under heat and stress....

If you find it, please let me know.

Also let me know how "easy" it is to machine solid aluminum.

BTW, you guys should slap on a set of 14" rotors it'll fit... haha but you need 18+ wheels, possibly 19s

Haha, pretty much exactly how I was feltg when I read the response.

And yep, I believe you can fit up to a 13.8" rotor on these bad boys!

great deal on these calipers.. prices have skyrocketed on the RL calipers. I have the same setup and love it.

and the material for those brackets is not cheap... that's a thick piece of high strength aluminum and quality nuts/bolts, milled to the exact fit on our cars.

quite easy. i have full access to a CNC (which i doubt paul uses), and we buy blocks of aluminum by the crate at work.
there is nothing fancy about that milling job, simple chamfer / filet. looks like you can get by with some t-6061, or 7075 if youre really paranoid. ill be even willing to bet that you can make that on a manual mill, if you arent retarded.

You should make some then so Paul doesnt have a monopoly on the market. I would pay 140 and not even think twice about it. In the end you are still paying way less then most kits

I've got this same setup on my 2005 TL. Loving it. Paired it with RacingBrake 350z 12.6" rotors, EBC Yellowstuff pads. Actually makes the TL Brembo's looks small.

Great price too for the lucky person that is buying them.
