The answer is actually yes. This is one of the very few phones that are capable of both CDMA and GSM. So that means it can work on ANY US carrier. I've heard that if you use it for GSM that you may not get 3G however.

Yes, it will work. GSM is AT&T and T-Mobile. CDMA is Verizon and Sprint. If you look behind the battery you will see a slot for a SIM card. Once the phone is unlocked, simply put an AT&T or T-Mobile SIM car in that slot and the phone will now carry that phone number and that carrier. Very cool and very easy. Unlock codes are available online for like $5, check eBay.

im not worried about the internet because i dont have data plan anyways. im just looking for a phone that has good battery life, doesnt lag, and can let me text fast with a good keyboard.

unlock cost me $0.99 and i got the code in a few min. a few more min and the phone was unlocked, and works great!
