2005 Accord Hybrid Navigation System

I'm offering my head unit, upper dash panel, DVD drive and GPS antenna for sale to V6P members before I put it on eBay

The parts are currently in my car and work wonderfully. I modified the antenna to run from the trunk to the roof antenna module so it no longer has the bracket, case or wire to go in the stock location up front. Also, the drive was mounted in the trunk instead if the dash, so I can include the wires running to the trunk, but they are unshielded (I never got around to replacing them)

I'm offering this system for $750 + shipping from 98660. This offer will stand for two weeks before I put it up on eBay. I am willing to assist in a retrofit for anyone looking to do so.

2011/03/07 Update:
Full pictures update
Head Unit:

DVD Unit:

Upper Dash Assembly:

Trunk Bracket:

Software DVD:

GPS Antenna Assembly:

This antenna has a 15 foot wire extension as it normally sits very close to the DVD Unit and I wanted to run it up into the roof antenna assembly. To remove the wire, I had to cut one of the splices and it will need to be placed into your own assembly before resplicing.

This shows where I ran it into the assembly. IIRC, I broke off a small plastic tab that served no useful purpose to allow the space.

Here is the outer layer of heat shrink pulled back. The outer wire shielding does not need solder as long as they overlap and are held tightly together. A small piece of foil can be wrapped around this before you insulate it if you are worried.

the core of both wires are stranded and very easy to solder together. I used 3 layers of heat shrink to provide ample insulation from the shielding. A short between the inner wire & the outer shielding will result in loss of GPS. I can resplice the wire to a shorter length before shipping if you aren't confident in your own skills, but it has no casing and it HIGHLY recommended, at this point to run it to the roof.

I'm also still working on pulling the full wiring harness but that will be an additional $300 because of the MASSIVE work involved (depinning some connectors, removing splices, labeling wires & replacing the video wires with shielded wire). More on that later. If you are interested in the harness, let me know.

-Ryven

PS - the microphone & steering wheel buttons are NOT included as I want to make use of them in my carPC I'm building.

This will fit your accord. I believe the back light colours will even match. But you might have to tap into the ECU or something if I remember correctly

and a video to show it is fully operational.
&mpt=[CACHEBUSTER]">

ugh... sorry the video came out sideways, I thought the iphone would correct that. If you want pics of a specific part, let me know. By the response I have a feeling it will be sold soon so I can pull it for pics if you guys need me to.

edit: Night pics for better contract will be posted tonight.

Also wanted to note: I can't help with climate control stuff if you don't already have dual zone.

Sorry, I'm keeping it all as one piece. I didn't post a pic but I also have the older variant of the upper dash with the passenger airbag light under the hazard button. If your car has that style hazard then I can ship that piece with the LCD instead of the one pictured.

Alternatively, after the sale, I can offer the upper dash panel I'm left with, but it will have no LCD.

The active noise control unit is free for anyone putting this system in a hybrid, but otherwise, i'd like to keep it as a back up as they have a high failure rate from what I've read.

hang tight, if my buyer needs that I won't be able to sell it separately. If I am able to sell it; $20 +shipping

that won't include the LCD

FAQ:

Does everything work correctly?
-yes, though I must mention that I never hooked up the voice button to test the mic or voice controls, but the diagnostics reported no faults there.

Exactly what is included in the sale?
-1: your choice of upper dash assembly, depending on which fits your car
2: 6-CD head unit and screen
3: DVD Navigation unit
4: GPS antenna with modified wire extension
5: trunk mounting bracket for the DVD drive
6: ANC unit for hybrid cars (I'd like to keep that if the sale is to a non-hybrid owner)

Is the wiring included?
-The wiring is not included for $750, it is an additional $300. I'm actually shortening the main harness and putting in new wires that require shielding. My custom harness was too long and I had EMI on my screen. I could include the harness I used, as-is for $150. Total price with harness: $900 +shipping. $1050 if you want the upgraded harness.

Why are you getting rid of your navigation?
-I want to put a full PC in my car and the navigation is too valuable to cannibalize, so I'm hacking up my old stereo and selling the nav.

Will this fit my car?
-theoretically, yes. Single zone climate control systems will require an adapter, though.

Bump before posting to eBay.

Since I need a new antenna anyway, I'm getting a replacement antenna for this lot and offering that in lieu of my modified antenna, although it will still lack the mounting bracket, which will vary depending on if your Accord
Is hybrid or not.
