FS: J33 Stroker Engine

For Sale is my J33 stroker engine built by Paul - NVA-AV6.

Price is $1700 with TL automatic ecu.
(Engine will be out of my car once the J37 is built and put into my car which should be early June)

Engine currently has 41,000 miles on it. The reason why I am selling it is because I am having a custom J37 built for me and will have no use for this engine.

This engine is completely ported and polished with TL-S cams also the heads were custom milled down to raise compression. The oil was changed every 2,500 - 3,000 miles using 10w30 or 5w30 oil.
I also just put on a new timing belt, water pump, and crank and cam seals replaced (I was not thinking since my car had 109,000 on the odometer and natural thinking kicked in). Car currently has 114,122 on the odometer.

If anyone interested is local to Philadelphia area you can gladly come drive the car and see how the engine feels personally.
Feel free to PM me or call or text me with any questions. (215) 350-0804.

Thank you
-Brett-

Sounds like fun. Did you ever dyno? If so what are the numbers?

The car was dynoed but I don't have the dyno logs as they were lost during my move and the dyno place is closed down. Untuned 241whp and 228wtq. Tuned I went up to 252whp and 239wtq. Thats just peak numbers but the power and torque is great throughout the entire powerband.

Wow, not bad for autotragic. Probably add 10/10 if you're using the 6 spd. Wish I could afford this right now

If you want to put money down to hold the engine and we can work out a payment plan I'm always willing to do that for a v6p member.

What was the entire exhaust setup when it was dynoed? What was it tuned on/with?

Richie v2 pre cat delete with stock 3rd cat and borla exhaust. Arm fic was what I tuned with. I just did a conservative tune since its my daily driver.

I'm seriously considering this. I've been pondering some kind of build, in case my clutch is actually going bad. I'm going to compression test my engine and see if it is showing the wear of a 150k engine, and if it is this will assuredly be pursued. I probably would anyway if it weren't for financial issues right now

Also, has this build changed your fuel economy at all? I don't know what to assume, but I remember reading in one of the epic build threads that guys saw better highway MPG with stroked J-series builds.

Like I said if your really interested we can do a payment plan. I won't charge interest like loan officers do. Lol.

Fuel economy went up in both city and highway. Before city was average 18mpg highway was 28mpg and now city is average 22mpg and highway is 37+ if cruising at 60mph. Also manual transmissions will be higher cause of the extra gear. Where are you located? Are you near Philadelphia? If so we can meet up and you can see everything.

I don't know how much he would charge but you can ask him and I'm sure he will give you a great deal. After my new engine goes in this engine will actually be at Paul's since he is the one doing all of the work.

Thanks. I wish you the best with your hatch. We should do a little meet and get some people together and have a BBQ or something.

I'm roughly 10 hours away in Wisconsin I would probably have it shipped, unless I just have Paul install it, then I would drive there.

Wow, that gas mileage is awesome.

If I have free time this weekend in between working I will post some videos of some runs. Only thing I will have to worry about is the cops. lol. I will try to do some videos in the back of an industrial park after hours so this way no one is around. I do not like to drive really fast when people are on the road. If something were to happen I don't want to injure anyone. If anyone has any questions please feel free to reach out to me and I will respond as fast as I can.

Is anyone up for a last minute meet and BBQ at a park for this Sunday? I can also show you how the car runs in person with the engine.

Call or pm or email me all who is interested.

I was thinking neshaminy state park located in Bensalem pa. I believe they have grills and all we would need to bring is charcoal and fluid. Of course food and refreshments will need to be brought with us. Here is the parks website PA*DCNR*-*Neshaminy State Park

I had the engine for a little over 3 years. I love the engine but I have a problem I just keep wanting to do stuff to my car and once I run out of things to do I try to think outside of the box. Do I need to get a new engine NO but because of my problem I decided to get a J37. My biggest worry is how the trans will hold up with the J37. Trans is perfect with the J33. I have a trans cooler on it already since my stock trans blew at 70K.
