ya it's a great system. i bought it initally to keep for myself, but i already have a someone decent laptop (omnibook 510), so i really couldn't justify keeping it. but this is thing is fully loaded and i love the widescreen. watch DVD with no black bars!!!

but ya, but this is a great deal. no doubt you could of had a even greater deal, but you snooze, you lose

nah, not trying to hide it or anything. fact of the matter is, no one can get that deal now. and the price i'm offering is way cheaper than you can get from dell. only thing i gotta worry about is another v6p member that also got in on the deal

1800 shipped is kinda expensive too man. the 8600 is the model immediately lower than the 9100, and sometimes they're comparable in price since the 8600 is thinner and lighter with the centrino chips

ya the 9100 is massive (i.e. desktop replacment). i think the 8600 is the best bang for the buck. you get almost the same performance as the 9100, with a decent size/weight for portability.

and about it being shady, i'm not hiding the fact i got it for a great price. Would you be selling it for below market price?? and if you're calling the fact that i bought something for a good price and sold it to make a profit...how is that differnt than anybody in sales???

also wanted to make a note of the centrino thing. it's a total marketing scam by intel. all centrino is is intel cpu + intel chipset + intel wireless. i got the first 2, but opt for the dell wireless as i have heard it offered better range than the intel one. so essentially it is 2/3 centrino with a better wireless card.

$1300 shipped isn't exactly a great deal, but it is lower than what you get if you spec'd one brand new from Dell. So I guess it is a pretty good deal..

And about the comparison to a 9100, the 9100 is discontinued I believe the XPS is what replaces it and it starts alot higher then the 8600. For starters it has a different chipset (a P4M instead of a Pentium M) and the specs on yours has twice the memory, a better video card, a dvd burner, and a larger hard drive. Saying a 9100 or XPS is similar to an 8600 is like saying the 2005 Acura TL is similar to the 2005 Accord V6.

And if you're getting an 8600 for less than 1100 shipped then I would seriously look to see if you bought it with a Celeron chip instead of an M chip. Because you do have an option of both processors for it.
