man i feel your pain, you might be best off buying one from here

http://www.handa-accessories.com/accext03.html

it would run you bout 200.....talk to your honda rep and ask them if they can replace this wheel for you, i know but you gotta try, weird thins have happened to those who have tried.

been to honda and tried and tried...they said it was my fault and they were gonna charge me around 500 for the wheel and tire and mount and balance.....so ya break it down...they wre gonna charge me 220 for the wheel.....and then about 250 for the tire (the service guy was honest with me and said they had a nasty markup on it) and then a mount and balance.....so i am buying a set of summer wheels....18" gunmetal with a polished lip...and then gonna try to get a wheel when i can just as long as it is before winter

have you called up nhtsa? and then the dot. and then call up ntsb. and then call up the honda rep, tell him that hello i have these 3 government divisions, and i have a number of people who have these rims all concerened.

so if you dont want an investigation into this may i suggest workin something out over here.

and i would deal with honda reps, not the dealer. and once you mention nhtsa, dot, and ntsb i am sure their tone will change.

so anyway yeha, try that link i sent you see if that price is more reasonable. if u want ill sell you my michelin tire for cheap. it only has 1500 miles on it. so the way i see it you can get a 6 spd rim for 200 and my tire for whatever seems reasonable? and since ur in the dc area i can drop it off come this june.

it was only 220 dollars from the dealer....then by the time i get the tire and mount and balanced at least i'm still looking at around 400-500 dollars....and then im gonna buy new wheels neways so i'm just looking to get a 6spd wheel that may even be scratched just as long as it isnt bent....so i can have somethin to run in the winter...and its been a long week and my brain isnt workin so would you mind elaborating on what nhtsa and ntsb are...i know what the dot is..but between having my wheel do that and havin my dog put down this week my mind is fried and the last thing i want to do with is deal with a dealer or corperate desk jockey

ok, so lets make this easy since your brain is fried. sorry to hear about your dog.

happens to me all the time as well.

i would make a formal complaint to the National Highway Transportation Safety Authority (NHTSA), and then with National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), and tell them your situation how ur rim blew on a completely clean road from the inside. show them pics if they give you an email. usually the open up a case and they might give honda a call and that should get things rolling.

in anycase what i suggested was why dont you buy the 6spd rim from handa accessories. if you want the oem michelin wheel i have one with only 1500 miles on it. if you want it i can very likely deliver it come first week june.

hey just dont think honda should get away with this so easily. this could have easily been a 65 mph rear end spin out and what not.

so anyway hope this clears things up a bit, and pm me if u want more advice or help.

thanks a lot ill see what i can do ..... gonna fight with wheelmax to get my rims here first....then get back with the honda wheel...ordered wheels from wheelmax on monday and they should have been processed and shipped out tuesday....oh well lets say they still havent shipped them out yet...and they promised me they would be out yesterday...appologized to me today for them not going out and assured me they would be out today....and guess what they still arent to my knowledge..supposed to get an email saying when they ship....so gonna deal with that much first but will contact the other agencies begining of week and see what i can get goin
