Thanks,

It is way to much...not to mention that kkb tends appraise cars for to much.

On a related note, why do G35 coupes depreciate *so damn little*?!

2003's still sell for like 25,000-30,000! brand new ones are like 33,000.. are people crazy?

these are 3 year old cars.

kbb is useless. only thing it do is giving you a completely false sense of your car is worth.

i sell cars for a living, my dealership dont even sell what kbb private party price is. their retail value of the car is about 15-20% too high, their trade in is about 10-15% too high.

if they price your car at roughly 17600, it's worth about 15500.

dont want to part out because I like the car with the mods.....I would part out if I sold the car first then what ever mods I have left....I wonder if I can get 16.5 without the mods ......except maybe stuff like the speakers ,"kramer" auto shifter..stuff like that...I've spent fair amount of time looking for and installing the mods I have...

Rick
mods hurts value, unless it's oem. everything else, regardless of what they might be, hurts the value of the car. very few cars can have mods that help the value, cars like wrx or s2000 can get away with a few mods (bolt ons), rare older cars like gsr or itr can get away with a little more (a few body mods and minor suspension). unforuntely, accord = family car, most people that buy accords are older in age and are just looking for an affordable/dependable daily driver, mods like yours do nothing but raise up red flags about the possiblility of driver abuse.

when i priced your car at 15500, i meant it as stock. as is, your car as is worth less then 13000.

on accords (or similar cars like maxima, camry, or civic, etc) when i take them on trade in, i take off 1000 dollars if it got intake and exhaust, another 1500 if it got susupension mods, anything further, you get even less money.

it doesnt really matter how much time you spent modding your car or how much money. in reality, as soon as someone sees these kinds of mods, they think it's been abused, and when that happens, value drops. there is nothing you can do to convince them the car has been cared for. they dont believe you, just like you wont believe them when they low ball you an offer 3000 less and claim thats all they have.

What is sad is I kind of agree with you.....
What's even worse I'm still buying stuff for it...so if anyone has oem sideskirts and rear lip let me know....I figure if worst comes to worse my daughter will end up with a cool car or I could return it to stock and sell it....I'm in no rush to sell...hey but if anyone wants to buy it let me know...

Hey Ruiz,

i know you're not really interested in parting out; but if the comptech mufflers and tips can fit the 98-02 Accords as well, I am interested, and will pick up if possible. Let me know, I'm in no rush.
