you have to connect the + and - then connect the ballast to projector with hid inside and it should work... be careful you dont switch the wires around though beucase i have heard people blowing their ballast connecting the wrong wires together.

The way the cutoff looks.

ece tends to have more flare

where as dot is shorter flare

I tried to show what they look like, but the board is being ghey for some reason.

they're DOT.. projectors for US cars are DOT which have ...../````` cutoff , while the ECE (for rhd cars) have ''''''\___ cutoff.... this will prevent blinding oncoming traffics
these projectors nver been tormented w/ so to answer ur question Ryan, theres no pix

werd. lemme see if I can dig up some dot pics on hidplanet to see what kind of output they have. If the flare isn't to high on these, they might make good fogs

I'll get back to you.

I actually wouldn't recommend using projectors for fogs, reason being that the rationale behind fog lights is that you want to flood the foreground and any projector-based lighting system doesn't do a hella good job of foreground lighting compared to a reflector set-up.

The difference between fresnel, semi-fresnel and clear is mainly the color and the cutoff. Clear lenses will have a much sharper cutoff compared to fresnel, however, fresnel would "look cooler" to oncoming traffic since you're spreading the beam spectrum right at the projector.

To test a ballast.... at your car, simply connect the black wire to the black terminal of your battery, red wire to red terminal of battery. Make sure the bulb is already plugged into your ballast though, HID bulbs don't work like normal bulbs - they don't light up when you plug them in, they have to be already plugged in.

[free advice]A great way to test it INDOORS, is to use an old PC power supply. Take your fat 20-pin connector, cut the green and black wires, solder them together. Next, take one of the IDE drive power cables, cut red and black, attach a load onto it (lightbulb will do, or a resistor). Next cut the yellow and black from the same bundle, those will now be your +12V DC and your ground.

Great way to test ballasts indoors and safely, since the PC power supply will sense a short and shut off automatically. [/free advice]

If you want to know WHY this works... give it some thought, and if it still doesn't come to you, let me know.

okay thz for al the advices.. mucho gracias... .. i got al these craps for free w/o bulbs and i'm in the process of "trying" not to buying uncessary things therefore i dont feel like buying bulbs to test out the ballast hahaha and beside i cant seem to figure out which 1 is positive which is neg.. and i dont feel like risking it rite now cuz like Kiet said wrong polarity might blow the darn fuse (ruin the ballast) .. i' mite buy a bulb to test them out after i sell these haha ... in defense of fogs.. Dreamer alrdy has dual projectors set ups haha so he's using these for more bragging rite i'm sure.. projectors fogs are actually pretty good IMO because refletors fogs dont have the "cutoff" it'll tend to reflect in fogs due to micro h2o particles and will blind u from seeing the foreground ... i.e. turn on high beam while in fog ... all u see is.. FOG ahha well i mite be wrong tho..dont take my words for it and buy these just cuz of wut i said...wut ur use for these is up to u hehe

but ya since Ryan(dreamer) is such an awesome guy..always hooking us up w/ food/drinks when we have meets.. i'll give them for 110 RYAN .... and mostly i like the locals better.. easier communications...
BUT if ryan doesnt response during this 24 hrs period .. they're all yours Stevereno

Thanks for looking out man I just tried the demensions of the projector, and it looks like it'll be too big. I think I'm going to have to have Larry make me a hybrid projector to fit the space in the fog itself. But thanks for looking out.

free bump

ps: come by tuesday i'll pour you guys some more drinks
