Dr. Evil Transmission Group Buy for $3,500

Dr. Evil GROUPBUY

You asked for it - here it is.

Today after my conversation with Dr. Evil I'm announcing an official groupbuy of
Dr. EVil transmission at the first time ever special price - ($500 OFF)

Here are the updated details:
I. LIST and INFO

a. Dr. Evil now prefers at least 6 orders (see below)

b. The combination of 6 orders NOW include the following:
4AT for J30 vehicles (AV6/CL 3.0);
5AT for J32 vehicles (CL/TL/CL-S/TL-S);

c. Once all 6 members complete a list (please post here), each member is required to send me a PM and include the following info: First Name, Last Name, Daytime Phone, City and State.
Note: this groupbuy will NOT be affective unless I receive a PM with you information to be passed to Dr.Evil. Placing an order directly will yield a regular price - $4,000 (for J30) $4,250 for (J32)

II. FINANCE & CORE
a. All financing will go directly through Dr. Evil shop.

b. 50% upfront downpayment is required to start.

c. A core (your OEM transmission) is required to be shipped (see below) to Dr. EVil shop located in IL (address will be provided).
Note: All internals in your OEM transmission as well as all solenoids are completely replaced (see below basic list).

d. Roundtrip shipping is extra $320 (business to business only). Your shop who removes OEM transmission going to call freight company (you'll be notified which one) to schedule pick up. After the completion Dr. Evil will send back to the same place. Midwest members will be allowed to deliver OEM transmission to the shop and pick-up the final product after the completion.

III. TURNAROUND
Typical production takes about 4 weeks. All owners will be notified before it's shipped back.

IV. BREAK-IN process
100-150mi since LSD (limited slip differential) will take time to adjust and can generate a NOISE when turning wheels. This is a NORMAL break-in process required, so don't be alarmed.

V. GROUPBUY PRICE
J30 (4AT) - $3,500
J32 (5AT) - $3,750

VI. WARRANTY (update)
Absolutely STOCK cars - 24 mo/24,000 mi;
HIGH PERFORMARMANCE - 12mo/12,000mi
The secret of this successful transmission is behind doors, however Dr. Evil utilize Raybestos clutch packs which withstand the power up to 4000HP, fluid flow has been changed along with many inside features.
Redline Sythentic 4D ATF must be used otherwise warranty is void. This synthetic fluid allows 20-30* reduction in temperature operation. Again, no Amsoil, No Mobil1, etc.

Keep in mind, Dr. Evil has been tested over 2 years on some J30 vehicles with good results. Personally, numerous tests has been conducted on my 321whp AV6 with nothing but healthy mechanical response. BTW, total number of produced 4AT transmissions are over 50 to this date and so far 1 5AT.

Finally, here is my review of Dr. EVil transmission, enjoy:

Overall, I'm very satisfied with this upgrade and its significantly better comparing to stock autotragic as far as feel and handling. Since the stock ECU controls the shifting, it does pretty much in the same range, however it doesn't bog when you step on it and an instant downshift takes place, so no delays and that what I like best. Manual shifting is predictable as well (tried on highway). I feel the low-end torque from the line and despite more powerful setup I still believe Dr. Evil plays some role too with LSD.

The LSD (Phantom) as I mentioned before had some clunking noise (when you turn wheels) within first 100-120 mi and Dr. Evil said its a break-in stage. It is completely gone after 120 mi and keeps the car planted especially when leaving from the line and/or taking corners.

Finally, this upgrade designed for both types of drivers.
Those who keep the car stock and need predictable OEM replacement or true mod enthusiasts as myself who want to push the car hard and need reliable transmission to take the abuse.

The following parts are in a Dr Evil Transmission

~ Phantom Grip Limited Slip Differential Lock
~ Upgraded carbon-kevlar fiber clutches
~ Upgraded torque converter
~ Upgraded flex plate
~ Custom built upgraded internal pieces
~ Valve body modifications to improve shifting
~ Ensure all upgrades are COMPATIBLE with the factory ECU or UNICHIP ecu enhancer

Expected performance goals as a result of tranny upgrades:
~ Shift firmness will be improved
~ Shift quality will be improved
~ Will OUTLAST the auto TRAGIC transmission Honda is using
~ Expected power handling up to 350-450 WHP
~ Improved WHEEL HP numbers as a result of better internals
~ Improved WHEEL TQ numbers attributed to new torque converter
~ 1/4 mile times will be improved

Serge,

Excellent job working out this special and rare GB with the Dr. Evil peeps. I moved this info to it's own separate thread so everyone can respond.

Thanks again,

Is there a warranty for the Dr. Evil tranny?

I have a Cl Type S with the 5AT rather than the 4AT; I've been told that it's essentially the same transmission so Dr. Evil has done work on 'em before. Would this count as part of the group buy?

1.) ghost_masterCL - 99 3.0CL M7ZA transmission

Are you in too Maurice?

Also, I was wondering when I would have to pay by. I only have about $2k right now, and I'm going on a trip to europe for about 3 weeks starting early May, so I figure that would be a perfect time to send in my transmission core to them since I won't be needing my car.

Think that will be ok serge?

Of course it is. It bolts right up since you using OEM cover. All parts inside to be replaced with better clutchpacks, etc. They also use a nice torque converter, LSD and better solenoids

I really hate to be asking this, but can someone vouch for the longevity of the Dr. Evil transmissions? The autotragic honda/acura transmissions seem to last a max of 50-60,000 miles. I just don't want to drop down $3500 on something that will break in that amount of time anyway =/

Number of supercharged guys here running over 2 years on Dr. Evil and the tranny doing fine and some have over 300whp, so it's strong

I don't see why not. When this list is complete say before you leave on vacation, you can put $1,750 down (50%) and when return you can provide the remaining balance to expect delivery within 2-3 days. Bottom line, all you guys need is 3 more people

Basic warranty is 12-mo, however personally utilize Dr. Evil over 2 years as well as others and it's a good product . According to Dr. Evil over 50 4AT transmissions were shipped since I believe 2004 and none has failed yet.

CL-S 5AT is different transmission than our 4AT, thus this groupbuy doesn't cover it. I'll find out if Dr. Evil has ever built J32 (5AT) transmission. If yes, then I can also facilitate 5AT groupbuy, otherwise it's going to be a custom job $4,500+ build per order.

Wait, so whats this?

A little from the thread; By accusedMonk

"Aight, heres a little history. My Dr. Evil transmission is basically dead. I don't know how or what happened. All I know at the moment is it won't go into 2nd gear, and rarely wants to come out of 3rd gear when I'm coming to a stop. *Bell rings* Class is dismissed...

So yeah I'm kinda pissed to be honest. BTW for those who don't know the maximum evil version only has a 12,000 mile warranty or i think 1 year, whichever comes first. I'm at 20,000 miles ~ on the doc and it's gone."

First, his own words:

Second, without direct response from Dr. Evil I refuse to accept any mechanical failure caused by transmission itself. If I were him I'd send the tranny to Dr. Evil and find out the real cause. It could be an isolated incident but still I would send it back to them for inspection.

Like I said I'm running on it as well as other over 2 years and it's great with no issues. Otherwise it would never hold up my power and attained the expected results.

I guess come March I'll see if this group buy is financially feasable for me.

Nice, I think its great that we finally decided to do this. Although I know some poeple at CC Auto that have done the 6-speed swap for the same amount.

So I have a question about the Dr. Evil tranny. I was told that the transmission is essentially Dr. Evil taking our core, and basically swapping out ALL the Acura/honda crap parts for their own.

So, let's say I get past my 100,000 mile mark w/ my CL, and don't wnat to drop down $5,000 to get a new Acura transmission (WHEN) it craps out. Do I just send my core out to Dr. Evil to get essentially a new transmission?

Or do they just re-enforce the current parts of the transmisson? <--- I've heard nothing good about doing that, as it seems like the design problem for the Acura transmission is so innate and evident that there is no cure for it .

Update ~ Where are all the AV6ers with all the transmission problems??

With the amount of AV6 transmissions that are reported going out and slipping each week, there has to be a few of you ready for this upgrade. A new or rebuilt OEM AV6 transmission does not compare to this one! You cannot beat the value or true performance that you will be getting out of this high performance transmission! A lot of R&D went into making it for US! The testimonials from our most high performance AV6ers is also proof the Dr Evil transmission is for real, and can take whatever power and driving you give it.
