Intersest in a Groupbuy for DC Sports Headers from T.A.S. for the 6thgen accord V6

Hello all I have been ordering a **** load of stuff from T.A.S. I just called them to get the tracking number for something i ordered and i just happen to ask would they be interested in a groupbuy type set-up for the DC-Sport headers. They put me on hold and transfered me to a guy named Matt. I asked him the same question and he said to put a thread together and to come up with a decent amount of people that would be down for this. My ball park figure was 10. Bottom line is this is your chance to get a set of reputable headers at a great price. After we get a decent amount of people who are interested I'll shoot him over an email and link to this thread and get this thing rolling. The price will depend on how many people will participate, the more people the lower the price will be. So who's down for this?

i have DC headers on my 6th gen V6. No problems at all. I can take pics if you want. The only "problem" I had was a bit of resonance at 2000rpm but it went away after a while. I don't know how but I don't hear it anymore. Other then that it's been great so far!

my intake and exhaust sound didn't change to change at all. (i have a pretty mild set-up (Ct icebox and Ct axel-backs)) but i did notice a slight increase in sound coming from the headers. It's definatly not ricery. It's like a mean, throaty sound, almost like a g35/350z (i know, i know a lot ppl say their set-up sound like that but this really does, not like a 350z at WOT but like standing behind or near a 350z as it casually pulling away )

The cheapest place I could find in Sac was $180 to intall, so I decided to DIY. But it was a PITA for me. The hardest part was the the rear manifold and the cat bolts. (tip: buy 3 new 14mm M10 1.25mm bolts for the cat, the stock ones where rusted and weak, DC provided new bolts for everything else)

Performance was good. I didn't dyno, but there was a definately increase. The improvement in low-end great (I had 235 wide tires in the front and was still able to burnout for 2-3 seconds at full launch) but no so much improvement at highway speeds.

I hope this helps everyone and thanks to tbg23 for setting up this awesome GB

please post the price range depending on the amount of buyers interested. i just bought a set off of my friend, but haven't gotten a chance to swing by his warehouse and pick them up.

maybe he will be able to match or beat it?

the price that TAS has them at are 399.99. But by the reaction of the guy i talked to, and the way he jumped on the idea of a group buy it seems that it should be a good deal. Like he said the more the lower the price. If i had to guess I would say anywhere from 250.00 to 350.00 shipped. Hopefully its closer to 250.00 LOL. But Thats just a guess from me. I will call him on monday and see if we can work some numbers and such.

I didn't ask about 4bangers and 7thgens LOL. it was a last minute idea that i thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. But i can ask.

Per our phone conversation today, we are currently awaiting the results of our negotiation with DC Sports to get 10 sets of manifolds at the best price possible.

While we wait, could you tell me who I need to contact to inquire about advertising on V6performance.net?

Thank you for your patience,

don't mean to highjack your thread, but i got a set of the dc headers for cheaper than 355 shipped and asked my friend if he would do a group buy and he said sure.

maybe we should start a new thread, but how many none av6 6th's would be interested in dc sports. i think there would be more of an interest (to offset gb fees) if my friend would be willing to include none 6th gen av6'ers as well.

this is the email i got from theu guy @ TAS

Quote:
Durwin:

Thank you for the contact.

Further to our conversation yesterday, we have been negotiating with DC
Sports (AEM) on ordering 10 sets of 98-02 V6 DC Sports headers (part
#945522). Needless to say, we were disappointed when we heard that our
cost went up 10% effective June 1st. In addition, DC Sports was not
impressed with our 10 piece order and did not offer any additional
discount. We are not raising our retail price for the headers, but as a
result of the price hike, we can only offer a group buy rate of $349.00,
plus shipping.

Since we have seen group buys deteriorate in the past (when everyone
commits and very few buy), we ask that you send us the names, addresses
and phone numbers of the people who commit to buying. Obviously, we
can't force anybody to buy, but hopefully they will be true to their
word. Once we have the list, we will issue a promo code that those
people can plug into our web site in order to get the special pricing.
The promo code will have an expiration date of one month after it is
issued.

Please let me know if you agree to these terms.

Thank you,
Matt
