if you didnt know, the 98-00 air bags have a slight bump in the center compared to the 01-02 where there isnt a bump on the surface.

this is a 98-00 air bag that will fit 98-02 models.

I heard that 98-00 air bags are not compatible with 01-02 accords because something like the 98-00 has a single stage airbag and the 01-02 has a dual stage airbag mechanism. I have no idea what they mean but I heard theyre different and not compatible, if Im wrong can someone correct me? I dont wanna buy this and have my airbag maflunction.

Well, if you check here:
http://www.handa-accessories.com/accord/accwoodwhl.pdf

These are the instructions for a wood grain 01-02 steering wheel. It features a single-stage airbag plug, the same as a 98-00 one.

Dual-stage airbags came out post-2002 I believe, when the RSX (DC5) and 04+ S2000s came out. S2000s had single-stage airbags all the way up to 04-05 I believe, so it would be safe to assume that 98 through 02 Accords share the same airbag.

The quickest way to check is to pop the cover underneath your existing steering wheel and checking how many wires are part of your airbag connector. If you have 2 wires, you have a single-stage airbag, if 4, then a dual-stage.

Hope this helps.

Airbags

Stephen, you need to give me the tracking number for the package. USPS does not leave notes for delivery attempts in my apartment complex.

Hey stevie if I get me new job I'll buy it off you, I already have the TL-S wheel in black, but I need a black horn pad/air bag. Hey Steve...did Honda make sedan's with black leather interior? I wanted to do a black coversion but when I stop to think about it, I've never seen a sedan with black leather. Also will coupe front seats direct fit into/onto sedan tracks and wire harnesses? THanks man you're a god.

Since you still have it, would you mind weight the thing for community knowledge and reference?

Black leather interior? I'm not too sure, the best way to find out is to browse Autotrader. You should find your answer quite quickly that way.

I believe coupe and sedans have the same bracket pattern.

I don't have a digital scale, but according to my bathroom scale it weighs 3lbs.
