If I remeber correctly the 99 had a distributer and the 03 is DIS, so that would not be fun, also the crank sensors, timing parts, cylinder heads (J30A1 has headers, 03 has cast in headers, exhaust would heave to be custom made) are different.

Ask bobster, he managed to put a '03 TL Type-S engine into his '98 Accord. His car is stupid fast when it hits vtec.

so it wouldn't be plug and play, but if you swapped in the 7th Gen ECU, and used 7th Gen wiring harness, would that account for the differences between the engines like direction ignition vs distributor. And could the seller include exhaust downpipe and/or catalytic converter? If you resolved the fitment issues with existing 99 Accord exhaust, then would it just be a matter of rewiring any accessories that are moved around in plugs at ECU?

This sounds like a good swap, really since these engines are often cheaper than the J32A2 and seem wortwhile for the power gains, etc...
