My Dyno (6/13/08) - IcyAccord

Got to Church's at around.. 4, had some little problems with the Emanage and we still do. But here are my results. I have the CL-S HBP, if anyone is wondering.

Consistently, when I'm on the freeway and the engine is hot, it'll be at around 235 +/- 5

Around 255 +/- 5 when the engine is cooled down.

Daniel? I think that was his name.

There is ONE little 'mistake' that they made and Shawn made it pretty clear to me though. I might go back and have them work on it again.. since they produced the problem. So Shawn advised Daniel to change the VTEC point, I forgot why, don't ask. Everytime they changed it, the ECU would basically spit it out and give the car a CEL and whenever you would hit VTEC, it would sputter and would not pass 3k. So they tried changing it and disabling it and it would STILL give that CEL from time to time. So Shawn told me that if that happens I should reset the ECU, blah blah blah. Of course.. that IS a hassle and I would not like to unplug my battery every damn time the CEL comes out. The thing is.. the CEL comes out at RANDOM times. I tested it around the local neighborhood and just floored the car from all kinds of speeds, but it didn't give out a CEL. BUT, when I was on the clear freeway at around 3AM (right now, as I'm writing this), I hit around 110-115.. and it gave me the CEL in an instant and my car started to sputter. So.. I don't know WTF the problem is.. I'm guessing that it's a problem with the emanange settings.. because the car didn't have the problem BEFORE they tried to change the VTEC point. Anyone got any clues on this one? My laptop doesn't have a COM1 port .. so I can't hook it up..

Hahah, oh and if you insist..

He just said that I'll get a CEL regardless. So I thought that was kind of messed up to leave it like that.. I forgot which CEL it was. Basically what they did was change the VTEC engaging point.. it didn't work and gave that CEL. They tried to take it off (disable) it and it STILL gave the CEL.. so I'm kind of yeah..

^ahaha, I'll be fine.

I called up Shawn and left him a message.. Hopefully I'll get it fixed on Monday or something. I hope I don't have to pay to get the problem fixed that they made -__-;;

you might be leaning out on mid rpm that's why CEL comes on. I have the same problem when i use to have VAFC. Tuner played with the vtec point it turns out to be pointless...Not sure why but it has something to do with j30a1 redlines at 5800 rpm i believe, getting the vtec early will cost it to lose steam mid to high RPMs. Stay what Honda's vtec point setting...

i never use my emanage to change my vtec point tho...

Yeah!! Dyno numbers!!

You can definitely see how VTEC helps open up that intake restriction by looking at how the boost falls from the reduction in boost stacking.

AFR ratio looks nice and flat, I suppose 11.5 is what your going for with the CLS HBP, and that makes sense.

Glad everythign is workign out for ya Steve

Eh, with that VTEC problem.. it's not working out as it SHOULD. Hopefully I can get it fixed soon. It's VERY scary when you're hitting redline and it just pops a CEL and makes the car drop down to 3k in an instant.

open up the emanage, and pull the jumper out of JP5 and leave it open.

What would the JP5 have to do anything with the VTEC? Just curious. It says on the manual that it has something to do with

JP5 'Injector CH-A'
1-2 Sub injector "A" feature on
OPEN Sbu injector feature off (for 8 cylinder)

Sorry, i posted that without reiterating what i was thinking

JP3 airflow/VTEC output select
1-2 2nd airflow meter
2-3 VTEC
* Even if you don't have a 2nd airflow meter, leave it on 1-2 for non-
VTEC applications

JP4 airflow/VTEC input select
1-2 VTEC
2-3 2nd airflow meter
* Even if you don't have a 2nd airflow meter, leave it on 2-3 for non-
VTEC applications
* On 1-2, enables pulldown resistor (for use as VTM signal). This is
required because the VTM output is inverted with the VTEC out.

JP5/JP6 Sub injector drivers
Jumper off - Disabled
1-2 - Enabled
* Only enable if you're going to control extra injectors with the E-
manage
