Dyno day PICS and VIDS!

We have a local group buy going on so the price was reduced to $50 for 3 pulls, which is not bad at all

The only drawback i saw was that its a Mustang AWD dyno, i hear they show either too much or less hp than the dynojet dynos which everyone seems to be dynoing on.

I cant get a hold of any stock rims so I'm going to have to run on my 18"s

I changed my oil and did an atf drain and fill, and i cleaned my filter earlier too, its drying right now

any other tips?

hey, do this, since you get 3 pulls. try one run without a intake filter to see if it made a differance. or no intake at all (to see if the temp made a huge differance) or whatever else you can play with since you get 3 pulls.

try to do all the pulls the same way (meaning if it was in 2nd gear, do the others in 2nd, or whatever is best way to measure for our cars power increase) maybe you can try one with the a/c on, or etc. Maybe even icing the manifold (but that would not help you on the road)

just some ideas, you dont have to do them. Just trying to help

I was planning on doing one run in 2nd and the other 2 in 3rd
I've heard 3rd is the best gear to do it in, and 2nd is better to see the low end

I dont think im taking out the filter!
i am going to let the car cool until the intake manifold is semi-cool to the touch as I have it when I'm at the track

did you dyno your car?
yes I did

I've came to the conclusion that the mustang awd dyno that MZM just got is pretty accurate for rwd cars but not for fwd cars for some reason

here are some examples from today's dyno groupbuy runs

RWD Cars:
C5 vette with i/e 322whp and 370wtq
02 WS6 trans am with i/e 318whp and 340wtq, he was expecting right around the same
Ford F-150 V6 5spd
he was estimating 180whp and he got 181whp and 220wtq
Kuuligan's friend's IS baslined at 188whp on the mustang dyno a while back which is exactly what Chris (Kuuligan) got in his IS when it was stock on a dynojet dyno

that IS is now SC'd and it pulled 266whp today burning oil after the dyno!

now for the FWD Cars:
a turbo 95 accord f22 5spd runnign 7psi got only 149whp
a 2000 accord i4 sedan 5spd bone stock with 18" rims got only 93whp, they had to do the dyno in 3rd, it took too long to get to redline in 4th and the car would start getting hot

my accord V6 with i/h/e/p got only 163whp max and like 159 wtq which is right around stock power, i was expecting atleast 175-180, as other ppl have got

cforez's AV6 with short ram, comptech headers and CL mufflers got only 122whp which was really odd, his car started to hesitate past 5000rpm and it blew white smoke, we were thinking he might need to check his cat, injectors, and fuel filter to make sure theyre not clogged, his air filter was really dirty!
a civic si with intake got 130whp

i got a bunch of runs on video too that ill upload later,
next time I dyno its going to be on a dynojet unless MZM fixes their dyno

rims probably dropped a few hp or tq but not 10-15!
theyre the same weight as stock wheels, just a little more rolling resistance

ugh...just stick with dynojets. Even if the dyno was giving about "normal" results, your dynos still aren't comparable to 95% of the rest of the dynos on the net anyways.

yep, it was a waste of $50, but it was kool seeing my car on the dyno as well as other cars, and I atleast got a rough estimate of where I am compared to others cars

like I have 70whp over the accord i4 sedan that was there, lol
and 14whp over the turbo accord!

I'll post the videos up as soon as I get home, im at work now
