Most Recent Dyno

Hey folks,

Just a few hours ago i got my car dyno'd at Carboy. It came out to 186whp. I didn't get a chance to look at the torque numbers b/c the guys at the shop wanted to get the car off the dyno and install my CL-S cams. They'll be doing a dyno after they are done with that. I'll post the sheet later but i just wanted to let you guys know.

BTW, my mods for this dyno are i/h/e/bpipe/pulleys. I have IK16's but they're a bit old (about 20k miles). Should i call and let them know to change them before the dyno?

Well, it turns out that 184 was what i read but that was the spike . Real #'s are 175whp and 164ft/lbs before the cams. After the cams its 184whp and 170ft/lbs. I'll try to get the dyno sheet up if i can get my scanner to work

Not bad for a dyno with just cams. I figured you spiked before but after is really nice.

Nice

9whp and 6wtq just from adding CL-S cams is pretty decent, especially considering you'll gain another 10WHP or so after tuning. Have you changed your plugs yet? Doing so may give you a few extra HP since your Densos are getting kinda old.

I was just noticing that i did not gain a whole lot from my headers of b-pipe. The b-pipe was expected but there was little change from my previous dyno from when i had i/e/p. Could this be b/c the ECU has yet to adjust? I did reset it though so

I'm gonna go ahead and change the plugs before the dyno tuning tomorrow. I'll make sure to take a floppy with me so i can upload the results.

That is strange Maybe the B-pipe somehow cancels out some of the gains from the headers? It's possible that your exhaust velocity is too slow for optimum performance

Cool I can't wait to see the results

Headers don't give a lot of power. I thought the B pipe would give more gains at the high end. I guess we gotta see the graphs.

Here is the cam before and after dyno. I have the tuning results in a disk so if anyone that has the software to view it can post the results.

190.26 with VAFC...not bad. You didn't have bigger rims on when you dyno it did you?

How'd you do it the 1st time?

I'm at work but I would try to find a way to just save the image as a .jpg. Once it's a .jpg then you can upload it to the hosting site. I'll try later.

I'll take it to the track once i have some time and its not rainning. I just noticed that power tapers off after 6k rpms. Can anyone explain this to me? Also, I should note that these dyno's were done in third gear with 50% humidity. Temps are on the graph.

Our intake manifold isn't really designed for high-rpm power output so our power drops noticeably after the power peak.

Yeah. 6000 is about the peak hp. But wouldn't this change with tuned cams?
