263whp/247wtq NA 2002 Maxima

I made some improvements to my old setup and managed to hit consistant 260whp numbers tonight.

These numbers are SAE corrected and the dyno run files are here .

And for those of you who don't post your own SAE numbers as you should,
my STD numbers are: 270whp/254wtq
Again, this is an All Motor 2002 6 speed Maxima with alot of tweaks, bolt ons and dyno time. I still have the stock cams and stock ECU.

Wow, thats an amazing VQ graph. I had an '02 6spd and remember talking with you over there as I ran a 14.230 stock with Warren. Back than you referred to one of your mods as 'secret sauce'...what is it? LOL. Lets talk!

^Darn, we've probably met. Do you know VeeTec (Warren), hes in Stone Moutain I think. We always run at Steele. What mods did you have when you ran that time? My mph was 99....kinda high, but I wasn't complaining.

Don't think I've met you..haha I lost the max a while ago, back in the av6.com days

I was stock, except for tires, but thats not really a mod

I had some runs where I screwed up the launch but my trap was 99ish, I think my highest trap ever was 99.54 or something close to that.

Right on with mine. Must have been those Southeast Maximas...lol. I added a frankencar intake later on and lightweight wheels (SSR comptetions) but my times never got better, actually got worse (14.3-14.4). That intake was SO loud.

Yeah I sorta made a diy intake which was good for a little extra growl, and when I curbed the **** out of two of my rims, I bought aftermarket rims (17" konig prophets).

That was good for a 0.1-0.2 second loss in my E.T.

Wow, nice numbers

Your NA Max is putting down better numbers than even the most powerful S/C AV6's

Yeah, but those s/c AV6 running without intercooler yet and no fuel management yet again but soon to come..
Wait until TAG and 02AV6 reveal their numbers (mid to high 300whp) within a month or two.

Good numbers SR20!
Can you list your mods?

I'll be the Max still posts better torque numbers and a flatter hp curve.

Was this with your latest reworking of the intake mani? Last I'd heard that was your current project.

Than who? There's plenty of n/a 3.5 Maxes running mid 13's with bolt-ons, I can think of 2 locally. One does 13.6's, another 13.7-8's, both trapping 101-102. The track here isn't exactly one of the tracks that produces great times either. Altitude and heat suck around here.

Nice numbers!

Further proof of the VQ35DE's evil side .

Last March I ran 13.19 @ 107.33 on slicks and a [email protected] on street tires. The car is much faster now than it was back then. I will post a 12 second NA timeslip when the track opens back up.

Yeah, I knew there was some low 13's floating around out there. Can't argue with VQ torque and the car has top end to boot.

Stop racing ones that are stock.

Actually, there really aren't many people out there that go beyond an intake and some exhaust stuff. The cams and intake mani people are few and far between.

Probably. Not everyone can be like the Accords and be flawlessly designed with no engine or tranny issues.

The 4 speed auto is really not strong enough for the VQ35DE, so yes they will fail if driven hard. The 6 speed gearboxes have some issues too with synchronizers. There is no known common engine problem other than 350Z owners putting too much untuned boost to them.

Thats awesome, post up a full mod list, I'm curious.

I'm still tryin to get my girl to do some mods to her 03 Max, but its a lease so it cant be heavily modded. The tq on the VQ35 is damn nice, wish my CL-S6 had a tq curve like that.

damn it's got VTEC!

Yeah the quickest NA VQ30 guys are running mid/high-13's. Mostly 95-96's with the JWT ECU (higher rev limiter) and either the MEVI or 00 VI with other mods. This would definitely be good for 12's, and I think it would be the first 12 second all-motor Maxima pass.

IIRC SR20DEN and blubyu2k2 (02/auto) both ran 12's but with juice. 12's on motor would be awesome.

nice work bro, can't wait to see timeslips/vids
