the key to doing these type of things is to work on a big ass picture, then downsize it, the downsizing at the end hides most of the little jagged spots, then people will think your stuff is flawless i've used that trick a couple times

excellent work btw, im planning on my next project being a toon like this, the car is a secret though

did you use photoshop and trace it for a cartoon, or did you use illustrator to actually create a vector image? and why did you use short straight lines instead of bending the path? just out of curiosity. it looks good though, nice job.

really? i started on illustrator right after i started on photoshop, the vector abilities in photoshop seem absulutely retarded compared to those in illustrator. i guess its just what i got used to using, but once you get the hang of it, it gets to be really easy, the lines are so much more flexible and easily manipulated

im sure it is easy once you get the hang of it, but i need to find a tutorial or something that tells me how to modify things.

btw, its not really Vectoring in photoshop that i do, it just using the pen tool, outlining the car and its parts, and then basically coloring it in.

in illustrator, you can select the entire car when your done and make the thing in absolutely ANY size that the human mind can imagine without any distortion whereas in photoshop, what you see is what you get.

haha yeah, i know. one weird thing in illus is when you scale an object, sometimes line width can get outta hand, or make spaces or something. happens there too. but scalability is nice. i use it for banners/fliers/etc too

I know you mean the pen tool abilities, but yea i still agree.
tracing in PS is crap compared to tracing in Illustrator.

iono. i never really understood the craze with vectoring images of cars in Photoshop.

its kinda like if sending mail through the post office suddenly became cool.
slow and inefficient, as opposed to the quick and instant option of eMAIL.

actually, the key to "vectoring" a car is using Illustrator.

wow you dug this one up from nowhere hahaha

and PS has some limited vector abilities, not just the pen trace. you can create paths, which are vectors.

and to the OP, you can downsize it and put it in your sig now
