Is Hyundai Really unoriginal?

I got in a debate with my roommate, who's a HARDCORE Hyundai fan, and i can't seem to explain to him that Hyundai's designs isn't original...

Anyone help? with some reference opinions etc?

ya hyundai does seem to have bits and pieces of other cars into their own...just like that suv one you posted the other day from a distance they look the same as the lexus rx350 with just a few tiny minor adjustments made on the hyundai lol i don't know i'm not a hyundai fan just because of this copying other car thing going on =/

Because it's subjective...you cant prove it. Is Honda unoriginal for putting 5 spoke wheels on their cars?

Fact is, all the automakers incorporate different design elements into their cars...god forbid something look similar!

Wow There are hardcore Hyundia fans out there. I would never admit to that in public even if I was. Disown him as a friend fast. He is dragging your intelligence down and taking your cool points along with him. No really, Hyundia is still a joke of a car company and cannot think of anything on its own. It just steals ideas and looks from other cars and makes it theres. To quote Alec Baldwin in one of the greatest movie scene's ever:
"F^&* You thats my name. You know why mister, cause you drove a Hyundia to get here tonight. I drove an $80,000 BMW, thats my name."

I remember Hyundai use to be a mixture of toyota and honda and then toyota and ford escorts back in the early days. Now car makers do have a patent to their own stuff, but things do look pretty similar from one car to another in some form or fashion. I still won't buy a Hyundai, piece of garbage.

damn you guys are some hardcore haters. so what if his roommate is a hyundai fan. you know those euro or exotics guys look at us in the same way for being honda fans. as vtec v6 said cars have been around forever some are bound to look similar. and for hyundai at a business standpoint is good. people like honda and toyota so why not do the same they do.

hyuandai makes some decent cars, but they have strikingly similar designs to honda. Not that thats a bad thing, its generlly good. They have a great warranty, good prices, decent reliability, but the hyundai H and honda H are very similar... Odd...
