I was just there this past weekend. WOW! Lots of changes. What happened to the micky d's on green street? LOL. new high rise apts. No more down under cafe either. Its a huge food court.
It was nice to chat w/ some of the Asian American Association (AAA) officers and see how things have changed and how things stayed the same. Very surreal.
Even cooler was my visit to the Asian American Cultural Center and the Asian American Studies Center. I wrote the proposals for those buildings 12 years ago and it was really cool to finally see it in person.
Anyone see the AAA fashion show this year? It's hilarious. Damn..its now at Folinger Auditorium and they have DVD's and now its some big dance show. Talk about progress.
At least Garcia's pizza was still there. That made my weekend. That, and the fact that the University put me up at the Hampton Inn on University Ave which is right next to a PERKINS! Needless to say, I lived at Perkins the whole weekend.
