I HAD a Fordzda with one, actually had 2 of them in a row, both Ford Probe GTs (94GT and 97GT). Actually only really the sheet metal was Ford. Drive train etc was Mazda. Now I have a 6s MTX.... You need to upgrade that MX to the KLZE instead of the KL03......

Koo, Yea the Probe has the same engine as the six except the tranny and the body. My six is only 67k, the engine still fresh, I'll probably just keep it for now, I do have the ZE IM install tho. ZE swap is not a bad idea, but most of the N/A Probe or MX-6 just do the IM swap and save the money on cams and such, and they seems to out perform a lot of real ZE. EX: The fastest all motor MX-6 from mx6.com have only ZE IM and ZE cams and he run 13.4's

I think the Probe's tranny is the same as your 6. Ford didn't do much on the Probe, which is why the dealerships could not fix them to save there life. That is how I wound up at Mazda.

Hmm... not sure about that, cuz I think I read that the six and the Probe has different gear box, I'm 100% sure their gear ratio is different, I'll try to find out

hahaha... our MX-6/Probe guys call the JDM motor ZE's, it's call KL-ZE while the U.S motor is KL-03 You can simply change the ZE Intake Manifold (ZE IM) and ZE Cams and get a pretty decent HP gain, kinda like a MX-6 hybrid

The ratios can be tweaked but it still can be the same basic tranny. I know it is not a Ford tranny in the Probes, it is JATCO just like all other Mazdas out there that aren't re-bagged Fords.
