This is a suck

The interior of my car (mazda 6s with 701 miles on it), the rear deck between the rear seats and the rear window, rattles likes a b****!

I think the pillars covering the rear frame (the two on the sides of the rear window) are covered by loose and ill-fitting plastic.

And I can't do anything about it till the 22nd, when I have some time.

Anybody else have this problem?

Sincerely,
disillusioned

the only time i've had rattle problems was because i had my stereo on a bit loud and the sub was vibrating a lot... maybe a panel isn't sitting right?

Decent powered subs don't belong on the rear deck. Bose should have took lesson on this after they designed the system for the 00-03 Maxima's. Those vibrate and rattle like crazy.

The dealer should be able to fix that rattle easily, so don't worry about it

Thing is, I don' thave the Bose option. However, I'm not too worried anymore as I think (and hope) it's just an easily-fixable fitment problem.
I'll let you all know what happens after I take it to the dealer after the 22nd.

I'm already thinking about my new toy. A ninja 250ex. Nothing monstrous, but something to learn on and go for nice weekend rides.

Got nothing to do with the sub on the rear deck. I have the Bose system in my 6 and it is not rattling like crazy or at for that matter. I can assure you AndersonV it is not a wide spread issue and I am sure that your shop will take care of it for you without a problem.

I finally took it to the dealership today to get it fixed, and they told me bring it back next week to have it looked at. Does that seem ok? I don't know if they're jerking me for my time. I feel somewhat disgruntled about having to wait for a week but I'm unsure as to whether that's standard operating procedure.

AnyWAY. I'm looking forward to having the squeaking gone. Hopefully it'll be a good fix, and not just some oil sprayed.

Good luck! Hopefully your squeak will be fixed for good in your visit to the dealer next week

They'll probably apply some foam tape to the backsides of the panels to silence the squeak. Foam tape seems to be the automobile industry's cure for all squeak/rattle issues
