cant you swap the probe/mx6 engine into it? or better yet the one they swap into those?? kz or something? just curious. seems like something like that would be pretty badass.

hey vigo, yeah i can swap a probe or a mx6 engine into the mx3 but i'm currently saving up for a jdm millenia engine (klze) its a 2.5L V6 which makes about 200hp. i'm currently looking for a way to supercharge it or turbo charge the klze but its not looking to good right now because the engine bay is so cramped. but yea the 2.5L engine is pretty crazy itself. my friend swapped it in his mx3 but then he has a lot of other problems to deal with so its not at its full potential yet, but once hes done fixing it i can't wait to see what it can truly do.

i have a probe.. doesnt run, hehe, i got it, put a window and taillight on it, took the entire interior down the metal to clean it out (was cat nest due to broken window, now it looks GOOD in there), and sucked the water out of the cylinders.. : / thats all ive done so far.

94 2.0 auto.

the klze is what i was thinking about.. since you mention its from a millenia, has anyone gone to the effort to try swapping the supercharged miller cycle 2.5 into anything else?

the klze is NA not supercharged. i wan't to supercharge it but its going to require lots of custom work as i'm told by my friend because theres hardly any space in the engine bay.

yeah i wanted to build my car to be a sleeper just because you don't see to many mx3's around but i also wanted to make enough hp to be able to beat some civics and other cars in the same category.

hey VtECAzNRaCeR yeah i found the roll call. it took me a while to find though.

oh yeah i forgot to post the link to look at the pix last time here it is if you can't see the pix. http://members.cardomain.com/eore65

umm...i don't know of anyone who's tried that yet. it could work though if its the same size as the jdm spec millenia engine then i guess it'll fit. as far as i know http://www.mx-3.com/index.cfm is the best mx3 forum out there.

Yea the KL-ZE is not supercharged, but the Millenia-S engine is supercharged, I'm not too familiar with them but the Millenia-S engine should be a KL series as well. You can turbo a ZE as long as you have a good fuel system, someone in canada has done it to a MX-6, running 12's. There are lotz of turbo kit for the KL-03 out there now, people has been pushing 300whp+ with the turbo 03, if you wanna go turbo then just get a 03 motor. But if you wanna go all motor, then get a ZE and let the modz start Both motor are easy to come by, $700 you can get a ZE and about $500 you can get a good 03

hi,
just bought my 92 mx-3 gs and lookin to mod it very similiar to how you're talking. the kl-ze is a 2.5l v6 n/a that has 200 hp. the Millenia S has a KJ-ZEM 2.3l v6 supercharged done by millen sports. I did my 5 minutes of research to find what i wanted, now the problem is where to buy the motor for a reasonable price. Any suggestions?

You can get KL-ZE's from eBay or call your local shops, Im sure there are places around your place of residence.

BTW, the biggest issue of putting any sort of forced induction on an MX3 is the high compression ratio of the motors. People tend to chose the KL-DE (2.5L A-spec found in the Probe) due to its lower compression ratio (9.2:1) vs the KL-ZE's 10:1. I have yet to see a supercharged MX3, but it would be cool to see where they would put the supercharger.

I got my ZE for 1100$CDN from EngineLand in Montreal, Quebec. Unfortunately, after installing it myself, we found out the motor was dead on at least 3 cylinders (We didnt bother checking the back 3). So Im supposed to get my new ZE tomorrow and I'll re-install it on the weekend. My biggest point of advice would be to read, read, read and read some more, and do the swap yourself. Its a lot of fun, and pretty easy to do. Plus you'll save like 700-800$ in mechanics fees.

If anyone wants help with their MX3, just PM me and we'll chat.

They have a S/C kit for the KL-03 now, they mount the S/C at where the battery is, and do a battery re-location to the trunk
