question about odysseey

my boy has a 99 odysseey and his catalytic converter is messed and some mechs told him that its would mess up his tranny, is it true?

Never heard the catalytic converter messing up the tranny. Maybe the mechanic got it confused and said what a torque converter would do to the tranny .

Not on any vehicle that I've ever heard of. For that matter, not on any vehicle that I can even imagine. Time to find a new mechanic I think.
