haha... hopefully this weekend i'll get some with a nice backdrop since it'll be hot.

as for the sport shift it's great, my 99 prelude used to have one and since then i couldn't go back to standard auto which is why i got the 6... plus i have 5 speed now instead of 4... it takes getting used to because it's actually the opposite direction of the hondas, but it shifts smoother (no jerking while shifting) and the shifter feels more sturdy... i dunno maybe cause it's newer? i'm too short to drive comfortably in a manual stick. =)

Beautiful car I like that color a lot. It almost looks black from some angles then it looks a lot lighter from other angles. Also, the sport package makes the car. Those 17" wheels and the body kit are mandatory because the car doesn't look complete with out them.

BTW, isn't there a sport grille availble from Mazda? I think it's got the black chrome you're looking for. It's funny the Protege ES gets a standard black chrome grille but the 6 doesn't. Mazda should make it standard feature on the 6 with sport package.

TH23 there is a sports grill but it's a full body matched grill and i found out that even when you order it in the color and there hasn't been any fading yet it still doesn't match that well too bad i couldn't just use the protege grill >=)

jtkz13 the v6 5 speeds are pretty rare because EVERYONE is looking for it, mazda thought everyone would go for the 4 cyl yet they show the 6cyl on the commercial... go figure... everyone on the mazda6 board has been complaining about the backlog of orders and the wait time... so far i think if you order one it takes about 3 months+ unless you find one in the inventory. then you'd have to put a deposit down to hold the car until it comes in... once it's on the inventory list it should take about 2-3 weeks.

That reminds me of when the '98 Accord V6 came out. For the first several months, the V6 was scarcely available and as soon as one hit the lot it was sold or was somebody's order. I remember going with my uncle to test drive Accords and they only had one V6 so we drove it. As soon as we got back a salesman was waiting for it along with its new owners. We ended up leaving with a 4-cylinder LX and since their lot was full of them they gave us a good deal.

Still hard to find. I still hear gripes about it on the Mazda Forums.

Welcome zoom zoom zoom whoosh

Zoom zoom whoosh would be nice, but not zoom zoom boom.

from what I heard the Mazda 6 just uses the Ford Taurus engine with the engine tweaked by Mazda.

Actually, the engine is a Duratec....block by Ford but the rest is all Mazda....i think there is some info on the engine (specific to the 6) floating on the net somewhere.

I hate to make one of my first posts here a bash, but you're retarded. Wow, you're V6 can take an I4. Call Fox News, we got a story here, people!

What was the point to this? To look dumb in front of your peers? Mission accomplished, now burn the evidence.

Anyway, Hey everyone, another Mazda6 owner checkin in!

Joe
