Another domestic sh*tbox...

My friend's new hotness, '06 Dodge Charger Daytona Edition...

That's his 300awhp WRX there next to it. Unfortunately, he claims he intends not to beat on this car at all, so all the local GTP's offers for races will have to go on hold for a little bit.

Why are you sorry?

And it's a friend's car, I just plan on violating it from time to time.

nice mopar. to me its just the next intrepid. i guess they couldnt put a hem,i in the intrepid though, so they called it the charger.

either way, that daytona edition is nice, but i cant wait for the AWD srt8 to come out (if they ever offer that combo).

The Daytona edition is a bit much in terms of apearance. He should have gotten the Charger SRT8 .

And yet it posts better skidpad numbers than the Accord Sedan, and better braking than both the sedan and coupe. 169ft and .78g vs. 209 and .74g for the sedan. The AV6 6spd coupe had better handling, .82g, but braking is still worse at 181 ft. And that's even with a magazine that's heavily biased towards Honda/Acura. Then there's always the straight line factor...

Nice ride. I have a friend who is thinking of picking up a charger next year sometime. What kind of quartermile times can you get with one of those?

right, but the accord isnt exactly a mountain carver either. i wasnt saying its a horrible car, im just saying that i think its dumb that they went for the supersized sedan. probably makes good business sense with all us fat americans, but i dont like it. its my problem though

They could've made the Charger the answer to Pontiac/GM's revival of the GTO. Instead they created a Dodge version of the Chrysler 300.

We're trying to get one of our local GXP owners and this guy to run them, should be pretty close. They both seem to be good for very low 14's at 100ish mph.

as much as i love V8 power, i think the back end of the charger looks fugly...

As others have siad before the charger should have been a coupe with an intent to compete with the GTO....

and another thing why does the Hemi get piss-poor gas MPG ? GM's 6.0 V8 is roughly the same size, and gets near 30 MPG on the highway....

Unlike the 5.7L HEMI, the 6.1L HEMI doesn't have cylinder deactivation.

It doesn't. But the LS2 isn't used in their trucks, just the Vortex series. Dodge uses the HEMI V8 for both. But yeah, the gas mileage for the 6.1L HEMI V6 is really bad compared to V8s of similar size and power.

I'm waiting for the new Mustang Cobra! I think the new Mustang redesigns are the best out of all the retro domestics. Ford did a fantastic job!
