3.3 Engine Lag issue

Anyone have this issue? On some cars/minivans/SUV's with the new 3.3 engine, when you press down on the accelerator, it lags momentarily until the RPM's hit around 2200.

I'm just curious to see who else might have this issue.

Lumpy, can you pull this up from your Toyota computers?

TSB TC007-03 "ECM Enhancement: Shifting Enhancement"

Or

TSB TC007-03 TC3001 .8 T1 26 T2 99 89661-09101
(This one came from someone's invoice)

Some folks on the Edmunds Sienna boards have posted this as the answer to the hesitation problems.

Thanks.

WE HAVE THAT LAG. Or some of that.

Our lag is on the pedal. We have a 04' Solara SLE V6 with the 3.3L V6

We have to push the pedal down a good 1/2" maybe more before the car starts going and getting gas i guess. So I guess thats the lag.

ITs like equivilent to our AV6 with i would say loose throtlle body cable. where there is too much slack like 1/2" slack So you wouldhave to press the pedal down 1/2" before the cable tightens and start opening up the throttle.

My Sienna that I just picked up last Monday, fresh from the factory, doesn't have the lag. Yeah!! It's actually pretty peppy and the ECM has learned that I like fast take-offs at the light. LOL.

I heard that the 1MZ-FE has so-so throttle response. Maybe that's the lag you're feeling in your Camry.

yes, ive noticed the lag in my camry se v6. its also kinda weird when its first taking off in first gear and switching into second. it seems to take a longer time to shift into 2nd compared to other gear shifts and the car doesnt go anywhere while its doing that
