yea the release date is june 2004 for the whole U.S.
They said the pricing will be "well below $20,000" so alot of people are assuming around 15-17k.

lol it had better be over 200hp! otherwise im gonna laugh at them all day when the cobalt boasts a more powerful 2.4L ECOTEC rated at 170hp and a supercharged version rated over 200+hp. of course base model only gets the 2.2L.

ah thats the day, the day when GM builds the better 4cyl... and if that Scion truely only gets 22/28 mpg... then, sorry toyota but youve really butchered that.

is this tC thing the celica replacement???

Hey that engine seems familiar
Midrange = Excellent
Top End = Wheezy, But Still Better Than Most

Its the Camry engine, and remember that when Toyota makes an engine, they give it torque to go with the horsepower.

Here's an easier perspective on it (I think ). If Honda made a car similar to the tC, it would be a Civic EX like car with a K24 inline 4 engine out of the 7th gen Accord.

its still sad the ECOTEC in 2.4L is making more power then a toyota 4cyl... the ECOTEC is rated 170hp 170 torque, dont know the fuel econ on it yet... (first ECOTEC with VVT)

is it me or is there now a hp war going on with every brand nowdays? (torque wars are funner tho powerful diesels dominating the stop lights lol!)

Saturn Ion
Pontiac Solstice
Chevy Colbalt
Scion tC

A lot of these little cars are getting superchargers...what's up with that?

This tC is a nice looking car...I'm sure it will look better once it's modded

I just started hearing of these Scion cars this year, I see the Toyota motor so they have got to be reliable. So who makes them and where do they come from.

Toyota makes them and I am not sure where they are assembled but it's probably America and/or Japan.

It's a cool little coupe for 17 grand .

Boy, some folks really are behind the times.

The Scion brand was created by Toyota to appeal to the younger folks. That's why they come optioned out with TRD exhaust, suspension parts, exhausts, etc... You can order your options at your Toyota Dealer and its all included in your payments! Sweet huh? Not only that, TRD is going to be making supercharger to put in the Scion cars so that's even better.

Why are all these cars coming out w/ SC's? To beat the honda Civic which has been king of the Pocket Rocket class for so many years. The only one realistically able to knock off the Civic is the Scion tC and the Nissan Sentra ???? (I forgot the model). Just my opinion.

The Saturn Ion sucks and the Chevy Cobalt is a big joke. That crap will fall apart in a year.
