My brothers 04' Solara SLE V6 is in the club too. they tried fixing it before the TSB came out. I think they just tried to recenter the steeringwheel.

cuz if i let go of the steeringwheel it still goes to the left. Gonna bring it back to them next week.

Hehe, I ripped the left side mirror off the other day by accident. I was at a gas station, and I pull up, put the hose in the car and every thing, and start to pump the gas when the pump dies. So I pull the hose out put it back on the pump, back out of the spot, not even thinking about the hose extender thing that lets idiots reach the other side of the car with the hose. Anyway, as I'm backing up, the hose gets caught on the mirror, all of a sudden...BANG! I look up and I see pieces of my mirror shooting about 20ft in front of me. Cost me $300 to replace, the entire thing was shattered, plastic, and the lens

They dont even have folding mirrors is whats pissing me off in our 04' solara.

Its a tight squeeze to walk between my AV6 and solara in our garage or the Solara and the Maxima. Usually we fold in the mirrors so we get more room walking.

But the solara mirrors dont fold.

I wish they had folding mirrors... like the LS =P Auto Fold-in when you park =]

This has to be the first time Toyota has thought about how it looks over how it functions... for shame x_X

My guess is that Toyota doesn't like to use folding mirrors because of the extra wind noise they create.

Does it really make that much more noise? its just a little swivel joint under the mirror between the arm.

Most of the time, a swivel joint creates a little gap for wind to go through. This often creates extra wind noise and maybe even a whistling sound at higher speeds. The folding mirrors on the 6th gen AV6 are a good example of this.

I guess, maybe they need to design a flap to cover that gap?

Or some piece of the mirror that is slightly flexiable extend over the gap to cover it.

The 98 Accords don't have folding mirrors either. I wonder if they create as much wind noise as the ones on my car.

Sounds like that would work. All these advances in technology and they can't seem to get this part right .

BTW: This is
