?'s about Toyota Matrix XR

Does anyone own one of these? I'm talking about the 6-speed model with 180hp. If so, what are the pros and cons of this vehicle.....? I am thinking of buying one.......

Hope you like wringing the snot out of an engine. It has even less torque than our cars.

I have seen very few of these. Mostly people like the base model I guess. I have seen more Pontiac Vibe GT's than the Matrix XR. Toyota screwed themselves by working with another company. Honda did the same thing with Isuzu .

I heard that TRD is going to offer a turbo through the dealerships. I wonder if it will happen?

Anyways, the Matrix XRS is the 180 HP one. It doesn't have any more power than the Celica GT-S (averages mid-15's) yet weighs 300 lb more, so that puts the Matrix at a typical time of low-16's. You might be able to get mid-15's if you rev the shia out of it on launch.

Look at the dyno above - that engine pretty much has the same low-end issues that the AV6 does - no real power till the hot cam comes online. Only you have to wait until 6000 rpm in that engine vs 3500 rpm in the AV6. A Gen6 AV6 would probably be quicker than an XRS 6spd with average drivers. Will be quick at 9 to 10/10ths, but slow as crap below that.

I like the Matrix, but it needs a bigger engine.

The S4 is a little out of my price range. Although, for about $15,000 less, you can have a Subaru WRX STi which goes 0-60 in 4.6 and has 300 hp. It looks awesome.

But it's not as nice and luxurious as the Audi. I like the car with a little of both but the S4 is out of my price range also. I could only dream (for now).

The RS6 is so fast...but I like the looks of the S4 better. Maybe when they redesign the A6 the RS6 will get discontinued and they'll put its engine in the S4

I have a friend that has one they have put a lot of money in it and it beat a friends type R but i dont think he can drive they have the xrs it would be cool if it ddi have a bigger engin but it would also need a bigger engin bay cuz it is so small. but they have a lot of potential. IMO the 03 GT V6 Tibby has the best potental right now as far as a faily inexpesive car. my friends tibby has one pully upgade cai and exaust and he can hang with a 93 cobra
