Turbo Camry!

Sorry if repost but i just ran across this from a guy on H-T.com. He has a sick TURBO integra setup too.

Camry:
http://www.geocities.com/leunghomepage/CamryTurbo.html

Integra:
http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=993842&page=1

The only thing that gave away that it was a turbo setup was the SHINEY manifold and the wasgatet hat was peeking out of the heat shield.

The Integra's turbo setup is pretty well hidden. It would fool me since I don't know that much about turbo's. The Camry link doesn't seem to be working at the moment.

Nice numbers, but both peak torque and horsepower come very late in the rpm power band. A sequential turbo setup would solve this problem, but it doesn't look like that sort of setup would fit. And claiming that it's the only one in the world is a bit of a stretch. There are probably a good deal of project cars running on the streets that few people know about.

He's pushing 392whp at the wheels from a camry, what more can you expect? It's a beast. Here's some pics that aren't on his website...in the online camry community, he was the only one back then...I don't know of anyone else who has turbo'd their 1MZ on a Camry, but they probably just aren't online. It's not a very common thing to do.

Man even the Camry owners love their cars more than the Accord guys. Why couldnt he own a Accord? There was the ES300 and this Camry but yet no turbo Accord. So sad.

You would think there would be at least one turbo V6 Accord running around considering its a Honda.

Is that still the CT26(7?) Turbo?

There were a couple guys on here that said they were starting a turbo project for a 6th gen accord, which is the only accord that any kind of blower setup would be feasible in. After a while with no pics they just disappeared as far as i know, they probably ran into problems and scrapped the projects. besdies which it's easier to just take the displacement up to 3.5L and install the comptech SC and hope intercooler.

It's been a T66 for awhile.

He has a 4000rpm stall torque convertor. Every time he gets on the gas, the engine instantly goes to 4500rpm. He doesn't have to worry about spool time, or late powerbands. Simply pushing the gas gets him there in the express lane.
Thats an unlocked dyno run 2 btw. The A54X family has been proven for years to loose 22% on a stock engine.

Faster shifts + consistency + consistent launches with the A/T, TC & LSD.
The built A/T is gonna kill any similar M/T that shows up next to it.

He & his brother own a performance shop in Canada. There's been 20,000 (Canadian, not real money ) put into the Camry alone over the years. They're great people. Yall want turbo honda's so bad, drive up there & let them do it. They'll come up with something wild.
