Need some advice

I have had a lot of bad luck with my car. I love the Accord but I can't really afford all of the problems that this car has. I am interested in purchasing a new car in a couple of months and wanted your opinions. I would like to purchase a Lexus GS. I want to purchase the GS 430 but there is no way that I can afford it. So I will be going for the GS 300. Please let me know what you guys think. Also how much do you think that I can get for my Accord? I have a 2001 Accord EX V6 with 48000 miles. Thank you in advance for all of your help and insight.

okay, i'm going to reply since no one is

for price i wouldn't know how much it would be, but if i was to sell my car i would check out www.kbb.com and see what the book says.

as for the gs; that is a really good choice, because tons of modifications to do with that car; along with that car being VIP to start out with.

good luck

Spyder, my bad bro... didnt get on in a couple days. Rip off your mods before trade in - dealers dont give you squat for your mods. You can get more for them selling them to members or ebay. Use that money to mod your GS.

Hee hee.... thats what I did when I transfered from my 01 Accord to my 02 Si. I had a nice enough dealer to offer to pull off all my mods and put on the stock parts at no charge. I think I only got 13K for my Accord though, but they gave me a good deal on the Si - so I wasnt tripping on the trade in.

The GS is a great car. I test drove them a lot before going with the IS. I wanted a luxary car, but the GS was a little bit too big for me and my liking. The V6 is a bit more modable since there just isnt that huge of a market for the V8. I'd say for the money and the future uses for your car - go with the V6.

If you can wait a year the new IS will be coming out. Completely redone. The thing is supposed to be wicked. The debut release is March 5-6. I'd say wait and see how that looks first.

Are you sure there's isn't a huge aftermarket support for the v8?

The GS uses the same 2JZ-GE Inline-6 as the IS300. The ES is the one that uses the MZ series V6.

www.kbb.com , www.nada.com , www.edmunds.com , and your local paper for prices

The GS is definitely a nice car, but not my cup of tea.

Dont get me wrong there is a market... just not as big as the I6 due to turbo modding, engine platform sharing with the Supra, and such.

Thanks guys for your feedback. I 've been really busy so I havent had time to come and visit. I know I wanted to take off all of the aftermarket parts anyway. But as to the car if I sell my car for the right price I will most likely get a GS300 and in the long run probably upgrade to the supra engine parts, turbo, and a 6-speed conversion but that is far away. If I cannot get the money I will probably pick up a 2000-01 maxima stick.
