I didn't like it at first...but it's growing on me. No altezzas on the back?

But I still would get a 1st gen over this one.

The price for the IS 250 (2.5L V6) is supposedly going to be around 26-27K while the 350 (3.5L V6 - Tweaked Avalon engine, adding direct injection) will be 32-34 (Est. of over 300 hp)

So now there will be more "buy ups" from mid 20K range looking for a sedan

250hp for the same price as TSX. I'd rather take this.

IS 250 is AIMED at 200 hp... but I think they "California Emissions'd" the hell out of it... it's around 180-190

But it's still direct fuel injection and has dual vvt-i... which means it'll feel like a supercharged car =P (think C class Kompressor)

Much more luxurious both inside and out compared to the 1st gen IS. The center dash is very similar to the Accord/TSX with navi (no surprise) and the exterior shares a lot with the new GS. Now the only cars left in Lexus's lineup that haven't gone though their next generation is the LS430 and LX470.

one of the main reason im holding on to buying G35 or 330ci..

I loved previous gen IS300.. I really want to see this one..

rumor is is320 supposed to come out with 250~280ish hp?
(i don't think it'll be 300hp. It'll over-power GS series)

The 2006 GS300 has 245HP and the 2006 GS430 has 300HP.

exactly plum.
considering top of the line GS comes 300hp, IS shouldn't go near there.
Marketing strategy comes in...

Im guessing around 250~260hp. 270 if lucky.
but then if they go anything lower than 250, then BLEH!!!!!!!!!

IS-series class in lexus is not infiniti's G35-series class isn't it?
or maybe it is.. Toyota always tend to lose in hp/tq race, but somehow they always manage..
so we shall see..

Actually the IS is in the same class. The IS300 didn't have much competition back when it first came out so Lexus didn't do to much to it. In fact, the car could even come with an inline 4 in Japan (Altezza IS200). Now that the G35 is here Lexus had to really add some extra excitement into this cars second generation to make it more competitive.

yeah. I've seen alot of IS200s when I was in korea. Asian countries all receive all the engines...
which we don't care. we just want bigger engine, and more power..

I really hope this IS320 coming out receives at least 260hp..
I'll fall in love with it. RWD is a major plus also unlike TSX/TL.
