is that going to be msrp or after the mark up? i think its quite too much for its class if msrp. ive been reading that a fully loaded is350 should be at $40g's. at $40g's, i think its a great deal....but if i had $45g's to spend, i would just save up a bit more and aim at an M series that $5g's seem to be a crucial point, for me at least

before it arrived i talked to a salesman next door (i work in the service department) and he told me it was going to be around 38k-40k (non employee) but now that it's here everyone is saying it's going to be around 45k which is a HUGE jump and too rich for my blood

yes! exactly. i can see how if the is350 is fully loaded for $40g's..it can lure buyers from its competitors such as 3 series, g35, and a4. if i was to spend $36g's on a 330i with 240hp, i would be willin to cough out another $4g's for a car with mostly the same features but with 60 or so more HP. but not many ppl are going to be able to makethat jump if the car is going to be $9g's more.
btw how big is the car? compare to the current is300?

Lexus had an event an official "Product Launching" event where I work a few weeks back. They brought in about 10 IS250s and IS350s. They were test driving them and such. I took some pics with my cell phone, but I can't figure out how to get them to my computer.

My initial thoughts: The body is a bit smaller than I anticipated. The interior is PLUSH to say the least. Very nice inside, which is to be expected from Lexus though. The wheels look great on the size of its body. The front end is the best looking aspect IMO. The rear, eh, well wasn't that bad, but it wasn't spectacular either. With a little customization I think it could be one badass automobile.

it's a lot bigger than the current IS in IMO it's only it was parked right next to the current IS and it was a lot wider/longer...but the leg room in the back still looked limited..and one the back looks like it slopes a lot so tall people might have some difficulty in the back...again this is just based on what i saw at a quick glance..i didn't get a chance to sit in it yet

Man I love this car!!

Fuel efficiency TBD? Riiiight, like they haven't had time to analyze that yet.

It even has an auxillary port? Awesome!

They have plenty of options to drive up the price. Hid fogs, led running lights, remote start, 18" wheels, etc. Heard it's pushed back Jan/Feb.

They're nuts:
11.8:1 CR on 350 and 12:1 on 250 model, you can forget about FI or go BOOM. The aftermarket low CR pistons and upgraded internals will cost too much to be ready for Turbo.

This car should be only upgraded in basic mods (when available) or better yet left in stock form. As far as performance I estimate stock 350 should run flat 14 with avalalbe auto only (for now). Still too much, I'd rather get current used M3.

BTW, G35 gets 280/270 5AT and 298/262 6MT in only 10.3:1 CR. I'd rather get G35 coupe and put APS TT on it for the cost of IS350.

i wnated this car soooo bad when it first came out. i still think it looks really nice. imo the is350 is kinda too too big. i think the manual is250 is going to be the best seller of all the new gen models

the is250 is going to count for 80% of IS sales.

I've already stated my opinion about this car in other threads so I won’t bother here. I do like some of the optional equipment it can come with, like the remote start and HID foglights.

BTW: Did anyone else notice that the IS250 AWD and IS350 use the same type of A/T? I smell engine swap .

Yeah, usually the lower trim models account for most of a certain car's sales.

yea, hers is fully loaded, hids, fogs, heated seats, woodgrain, rain sensitive wipers, LED compass on the rear view mirror, heated mirrors, etc etc. she has everything except the navi. i actually like the interior of that car over the 2 cars they are thinkin of getting now (retirement gifts to themselves), they're about to purchase the redesigned brand new 05' Boxter Type S over the 05' benz slk350, they had a slk on order, but i think they are gonna cancel it.
