would you guys think they may lose some tuning audience because it's not FI? IMO the 2JZ was what gave the last supra life.

well it being NA, it still is coming out with decent numbers suppose to compete with the new GT-R, and i mean we know when it comes out there will already be a ton of aftermarket support from big companies, so going FI i doubt would be a problem.

The GTR concept is much better looking (as is the Infinity Coupe Concept), and being AWD with FI, it will have a lot more mod potential. This concept looks derived from several current designs including recent concepts. The last gen Supra was too bland looking in stock form for a world-class sports car, which was one of the criticisms against it in many professional reviews. Hopefully, the new car will not generate the same reaction.

yeah i pretty much gaurentee lots of FI options for this new supra..the last supra was pretty much bullet proof up to 1300 hp or so..so i'd imagine there will be plenty of people with this new supra built up to well over that (2000 hp?) after a few years

They've been saying a new supra was coming since 2001 or something, then '03, then '05, now '07. I quit holding my breath for a new supra a long time ago. But no doubt that concept looks damn sexy.

R&T says New Supra will have 2 engines:
3.5L V6 (350hp/275tq) and 5.0L V8 (450hp/383tq) are coming with price range $40K - V6 and about $50K - V8. The goal is to beat and steal sales from 350Z

I'm going to create a new thread under General section and post an article with pics since it also contain new NSX with SH-AWD 4.5L V8 rumored around 400hp and 5.0L V10 around 500hp

Rumors < Facts

All I see in this thread is speculation and rumor. I'll start discussing this car when I actually see some facts.

if you ruptured your spleen you wouldnt be able to call 911.

Supra should be made with a inline 6 and at least one turbo added to the engine
If it is going to be a V8 it better be AWD and weigh under 3200LB

They should just reproduce the MKIV with upgraded electronics/styling inside the car, and larger twin turbo setup :P

The Supra in the 90's was a decade ahead of its time and its inline 6 to me is still superior to most engines out there.

LOL you dont know much about engines or supras. The inline 6 is more durable then any V8 engine out there. The Supra with a V8 will never have a turbo for the car. The inline 6 is more tuneable and much better engine. The only reason manufactures use the V6 and V8 is because the natural balance has to do with where the pistons and counterweights are during the operation of the engine as well as firing order. Essentially the moving masses (and explosions) work to cancel out the induced vibrations. Which is also why the angle of the V gets important. V sixes and eights are much easier to package in the vehicle because of the volume of the engine/transmission and how high it is relative to length. Hoodlines want to be low for styling and mileage. The I-6 will produce more power, more dependably than the V-6 will. Inline 6 has an uncanny ability to simply POUND out the numbers while remaining virtually bulletproof. They also tend to run much more efficiently.

Now can you tell me why the 2006 BMW M3 uses a inline 6 and not a V8

I just typed up two posts worth of responses to this but lost it due to a login timeout. I'm not doing it again, but I will tell you that you are making bs blanket statements across the board about a motor you know NOTHING about, and quite honestly it's making you look like a jackass.

Cheers
