going to the toyota dealership tomorrow..

Hey guys/ladies Im gonna come home this weekend to go with my dad to the toyota dealership so he can trade in his 05nissan 1.8s 5spd. He is just sick of the manual trans in rush hour. We're looking at the 06 2.4L (i4) camry ~17k and the 06 corollas (1.8L) ~15k. This is for my dad so reliability and fuel efficiency are the number one concerns. I just dont want to get ripped off. Are these prices okay, and does anyone know of any accessories or options i should try to get? Definitely none of that paint guard crap or extended warranty for a toyota. Any thoughts would be really appreciated. Thanks!

just run them through edmunds.com or kbb.com and it'll spit out various prices depending on mileage, equipment, condition, and who you're buying from. (wholesale, private sale, dealer, etc)

If I'm not mistaken, most dealerships use KBB so that should get you pretty close to what they should be charging you. While I was visiting dealerships Tuesday, the salesman said they used it to appraise trade-ins and pre-owned vehicles they sale. I'm sure each dealership has some standards they follow to stay in line with their desired margins though.

I used to work at Fremont Toyota here in CA. I was a Service Porter and chopped it up with Sales all the time. It's for your Dad and fuel efficiency is your main concern just stick with the Corolla LE. Your just paying more for a kit and rims on the S, and a little more power with the XRS, but let's face it, the Corolla is slow made for commuting so get the low model and save a little money. As far as options, just make sure you have AC and Power Windows, cuz it's hell w/o the basics.
