SOLD: Nikon 10.5mm DX f/2.8 fisheye lens

Giving V6Pers dibs before I post it on the photography sites.

Asking $500 firm, shipped and paypaled. No pics yet, but I'll post some within the next day or two. Lens is in perfect shape, and I have the original box, manual, paperwork, and pouch for it. Great little lens! I love it and have gotten a lot of fantastic photos with it that only this fisheye could have gotten, but sadly don't use it enough to justify keeping it. Need the money for something else so it has to go to a new home. Will miss it.

Specs and commentary at Ken's site: http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/105fe.htm

This lens will not autofocus on D40/D40x/D60 cameras, but manually focusing is seriously no big deal because the depth of field is always so huge with this lens. Just select the AF sensor you want to use, manually turn the focus ring, and watch for the AF confirmation dot in the lower left of your finder and you're done. Try to keep your fingers out of the shot though! 180-degree diagonal field of view!

Some favorites with this lens. The first two shots had the Image Trends Hemi plug-in applied which straightens all verticals. The rest are all full fish and uncorrected.

Did you sell this lens yet? I'm looking for a wide angle and I heard CaptureNX and DxO can do some correction to kinda flatten out photos from this fisheye.

Still for sale. Actually I withdrew it on another site but it's up for sale again. Want it?

The Capture NX conversion kinda sucks. DxO does a pretty decent job if you want a rectilinear or almost rectilinear conversion. You can convert anywhere between 0 and 100%. The Image Trends Hemi photoshop plug-in is the really nice one though. That straightens vertical lines out but leaves all of the horizontal curvature as-is, which usually looks great. The first two photos I posted use this plug-in. All the rest are natural full-fish shots. Depending on how you frame your shot, you can almost make things look completely natural right off the camera, especially for nature type shots. The 4th one with the water you can hardly tell it's a fisheye shot.

Yeah, you want it? I got it.

Everytime I look at the photos I took with it, it's hard to sell because I love them so much. Gotta go though, LOL.

I don't even know what's going on with my mom as far as the lenses go. She claims its too expensive, and that's pretty much all I've asked for... So I don't really know what she's going to get me for Christmas lol.
