Shots of my Bernuda Vacation

These were taken last week on my vacation to Bermuda. I am no seasoned photographer. I cant even call myself an amateur. However the pictures turned out nicely. The camera is a Powershot S3 IS. No add ons just mostly the auto shoot and a few with an aperature priority to expand focus. Hope you like them. Bermuda is gorgeous. I highly recommend it. The Grandeur of the Seas.

Shot of the pool during the day at sea.

One thing I learned on this trip was just how blue the water is once you get off of the coast of Virginia. I live in Virginia Beach and the ocean water here is not even close to being this pretty blue.

A shot of the water in Bermuda.

Snorkel Park

Gibbs hill Light House.

Here are the photos of Horseshoe Bay Beach. This was the best part of the trip. Horseshoe bay beach is one of the top ten beaches in the world and now I know why. The sand is like walking on baby powder and has pink in it.

This shot was taken while I was standing atop of the rocks on the outside of the beach. If you look towards the bottom right of the pic, there
is a cove where the water was very calm. The cove was surrounded by rocks and a reef. It was about 6 foot deep at it's deepest point. I went out about 2 feet into the water and had tropical fish surrounding me.

This is a shot of a crab that was in one of the holes in the rock.

This is a shot of the water crashing off of some of the rocks.

This is a monkey made by one of the chefs on board the ship.

Total cost for my Wife and I was a little under $3000. You could cut some of that down as well. We bought some jewelry and some shirts and souveniers and had a couples massage. That would have knocked off almost $600 of our cost.

This was my first time being on a cruise ship as well. We went with Royal Caribbean because they offered a cruise out of Norfolk which is a neighboring city to Virginia Beach. I drove twenty minutes to get on my cruise ship. Being on the ship was great. It took about a day and a half to get to Bermuda from Norfolk. The ship is cool because there is always something to do. We were very lucky to have as good of weather as we did considering the time of the year with all of the hurricaines lurking in the tropics.

WOOOPS! Can you tell I still wish I was there. I've been off the boat for a few days and I still feel like I am swaying back and forth with the ocean sometimes.

nice! I miss that place, I went there back in High School and it was so pretty! I have been trying to find a "map" that I saw while there. It shows what the underside of bermuda looks like starting at the sea floor and going to the surface. It was really amazing on what that looked like. I have searched and searched for it but haven't had any luck...

Good Luck with that. If you ever find it. Post it up here if possible. Now that I have been there, I would love to see it. I know it is shallow waters around the island. It took us over an hour just to navigate the channels and avoid the shipwrecks to make our way to the sound and out to deeper water. It was pretty to watch the water get a deeper blue as you go farther away from the island.

yeah I really wish i could find it as its insane. its hard to describe how it looks but I'm going to try...Imagine a palm tree in the ocean then flatten out the palms on top and thats how it looks. (from what I think I remember)

When I went there we flew and it was really cool seeing all the little island scattered all over the place!

Another place you may want to look into cruising to is Nassau. They have a place called the Atlantis resort there that looks amazing. That is where I am planning my next cruise destination to be. If you look around on the internet or wait until Tuesday's you can get better deals with Royal Caribbean. Not sure about Carnival or Norwegain. If you watch your alcohol spending on a cruise you can come out of it not spending alot of extra money.

Here are a few more shots I uploaded. These are all of Horseshoe Bay Beach.
