Panasonic LX3 - anybody have one?

Apparently this has been "the" point and shoot to get, and I can see why. "Big" 1/1.63" sensor. Still a small sensor compared to DSLRs, but much bigger than the typical 1/2.5" sized sensor in others. Also a nice Leica 24-60mm f/2.0-2.8 equivalent lens, and stabilization. Looks like a sweet camera. I'm not ready to spend $1000+ on a micro 4/3rds camera with an extra lens or two just yet, so I think one of these LX3's might be right down my alley. Anybody have one and any photo samples to share?

Guess not.

I think I might give one a try. My wife would want to use it too, because she's allergic to DSLRs.

Did you read the amazon reviews?

Have you considered the Canon G series as well? An amazon forum member had both and preferred the Canon. my friend swears by his G10. I played with it a bit but not enough to do a review on it.

Yeah the reviews are all overwhelmingly positive for it. Reasonable ISO limit of 400 and an f/2 lens are huge selling points for me. Won't need to pound subjects nearly as much with a flash giving a more natural look, and plus I'm tired of lugging my DSLRs around. (at least all the time)

G10/G11 are nice, but too bulky. I played with a G10 in Best Buy around this time last year. I want something that I can just slide into a jacket or pants pocket. The G10/11 are bulky enough that I might as well just bring my D40 and 35/1.8 or 18-55 lens, or heck go all out and plop the 17-55/2.8 on it.

Decided to go with (ask santa for) a Canon S90 instead. I liked the direct controls better, and the wider range of the lens, 28-105 vs 24-60 on the LX3. Only a 60mm long end would definitely be too limiting. Both are f/2 at the wide end.
