bahahah so this morning at 10AM here in Columbus, I could see grass... now I look out my front door, and I see 10 inches of snow, and it's still falling. Looks like this weekend involves video games and pizza and college basketball.

Damn man, I am so jealous. I love snow and this winter everyone is getting pounded except NYC area. We usually average around 24" a season and so far we haven't even had a foot.... And we will be getting about 1 inch from this storm

First round of shoveling finished. I measured 7-8" outside my house. I'll be heading out again early in the morning. It's HEAVY WET SNOW! I could hear the generator across the street sparking.

No power here, lights flickered hard at around midnight and are out as of this morning. Luckily I picked up a big ass inverter so we have a light, kero heater, exhaust fan, and COFFEE POT! Thank god for verizon wireless web.

I was thinking of picking up an inverter too, but our power is usually pretty reliable. Gas stove still works if the power goes out so that can be used for backup heat. I just got done shovelling round 1. Crap, 18" of heavy wet snow. This makes the Dec 19th storm look like a light dusting just in terms of heft.

^ Time to call Dre, haha since he is stuck at Marriott for a few days, lol

I have power here in my High Rise building in Silver Spring then again my building also have back up generators. Not sure if my parants house have power but the power cable is run under ground. I left both of my SUV at my parants house since they maight need them. Have my Car cover on the Benz and my Integra is burried in the snow.

Just had my Italian Espresso and watching Nitro on MTV. Hope I can get on my work server later on today from home and fire up my shisha.

Digging an initial path out the driveway:

That's 18" measured of wet heavy snow

after (and I'm already sore ):

I don't need no steeeeeenking snow blower, just this. My trust SOLID METAL shovel. I knew paying twice as much for this thing vs a cheap plastic one last year would pay off.

I'm documenting history.

It's still snowing too hard to even go outside and take any photos. Visibility is still pretty poor.

Our power is very reliable and almost never goes out. All the lines in our neighborhood are buried, so short of transformer blowing out somewhere, or some dummy smacking a pole that feeds our neighborhood it's almost always on.

If not, the UPS will run my cable modem and WiFi for awhile, and my laptop is fully charged.
