Let us decide

Not bashing anyone or anything of that sort.. just wondering why not let us, the 'regular' members decide who wins ROTM?

Yeah Hector we used to have it like that until people were douchebags and would have all their friends register for the site and then vote. It became extremely unfair so the site really had no choice other than to either get rid of it all together or have administrators choose who they felt was the best.

I'd be glad enough my ride gets nominated, let alone win amongst so much competition.

If I knew how to say you're welcome in JDM I would respond in JDM. Instead, I will just respond with, "Hai."

Yeah the one time when CG2 had all his crew members register was pretty bad... Team Paksiw. His car is awesome and I love it but I was like wow he just got like 10 more votes hahaha. People were just outsourcing their votes like crazy and it was pretty rigged.

theres no way to limit voting rights until members have at least 50 posts? or have been a member for at least 3 months? something like that...?

Well remember it was part of a poll system so I don't know how the site would be able to do that. I guess we could make a section that you cannot view until you have X amount of posts and have ROTM fall under that category, but who knows. I don't make the rules!

^+1 on the minimum post count. actually, make it 100, that way we can sorta assume they actually have knowledge of the nominated cars...

Yea I know...I remember...
Not saying we s hould or that its even possible, but I know that I enjoyed it getting to see the polls change and getting to vote. At least that way you got to see the car that the majority of the forums wanted to win, win.

And I am no way saying that nittanys1 doesnt deserve it, his car is sick..

Wouldn't an easy solution be to make it where members must have 100 posts, and have joined a month or more can vote in poles. That would weed out the total n00bs and whatnot. I'm sure if vB can let the Admin set it up where there's a post limit for posting in certain sections or sending PMs, that they can set it up for poll voting as well.

Just IMO. I'd rather see the forum community choose a winner than a handful of mods.

Okay,

I have an idears,

On another forum I am at there is a sub forum where you have to be approved to log in. I know a certain forum where I had to be approved [certain number of posts/how long i've been a member for] to download content.

For example,

V6P can designate a sub forum for voting ROTM only. But in order to log in you would have to PM me and I will approve your account to log into that sub forum and vote.

Just my .02 cents.

there are lots of possible ways to make it happen. question is, how much time the admin have to make it happen. there are lots of coding involve and could be time consuming.

I'm sure there is no coding necessary.

Mods aren't the only people who vote on the ROTM. We do have a small panel made up of 'regular' members WHO SHALL remain nameless. The people who vote on the ROTM vote in a fair and concise manner.
