Sorry guys, we don't allow pictures of naked men as avatars...

...Or it could be that we are updating our server. We are moving to a faster rig. Give us a few days to iron out some kinks and we should be on our way.

Let's try a different track first. Can you give me the details of the images? File size, dimensions, file type?

Are you trying to upload them from your phone or from a computer?

Forgot that we were talking about profile pictures. Or at least, that's what the initial thread was about. Confirm that's the issue for me? Thread was originally from 2013, so just want to be sure.

pics not uploading

Yes I was talking about profile pics and if any other ways of uploading pics outside of profile pic, have the same process of uploading files then it might be the same issue.

You need to resize your image first, then can try uploading it again. If you are uploading it from your computer, you can use a free program like Paint (if you're using windows?).

Let us know what device/system you are using to download the images from your email and we'll advise you from there if you are running into issues on this.

Thanks,
Natalie

Open up your pictures in Paint and use the resize tool (right below Crop). A small window will appear and you can change the numbers from 100 to say 75 (this is in Percentage) > hit OK to save > then attempt to re-upload it and see if that takes. If not, resize down a little more.

Let us know if that works for you and/or if you need further assistance - thanks!

Cheers,
Natalie

Ok I down sized the jpeg file in microsoft paint to 98x54 pixel at 4.62 KB. Now in the edit profile pic section I tried to upload the file then hit the save changes tab to end up with a (file invalid) result.

uploading avatar pic

Now the custom avatar upload options should be able to upload a pic within required specifications. When I hit the save changes the file could not be downloaded.

Hey there,

What is the message that you receive when the image fails to upload?
Can you try doing a wipe of your cache and cookies?
And try uploading another image, just a standard image from google.

Richard.

I think there is some confusion here. Are you uploading the same size images that you were using for your profile pic, to the member galleries? Those can be much larger. There are different restrictions depending on what you are trying to do

Posting pics in reply messages

So Im trying to upload a pic in a thread. It says I have to put in the url, why isn't it the same process as uploading pics in gallery. Ive actually tried to post the url but the picture is too big when checking it out in the preview so didnt bother too. From what Ive seen in the gallery when uploading a pic it automatically puts it to specs which is easier to do unlike your profile pic. I tried to maybe upload pics in gallery first then seeing if I can copy url but with just only a few pics under my photos , the limit of space is already met. I cant win for losing... this picture loading criteria is fustrating.

Hey there,

The best way to upload images within threads is to use the Attachment Manager in the Go Advanced Posting option.

Here is a quick tutorial:

When replying to a post within a thread, select the "Go Advanced" option located just below the Reply box.
From here, Scroll down to the "Additional Options" tab, and select "Manage Attachments".
A Window will pop up, select "Choose File" and select the image from your computer.
Once you have selected the image, select upload, and close the window.
Now back on the "Go Advanced" reply page, select the Paperclip icon in the tool bar above the text box.

You can select the image, and click it to have it appear in the text box.

Your image will not appear in your post like so:

Let us know how my advice worked out for you.

Richard.
