RE: my comments

Ok, so in the interest of not messing up the thread any further i would like to take this time to point out that i have no Vendetta against anyone on the v6p staff. i think you guys have a very difficult job and in general do a very good job of keeping the forum clean and on topic.

I do however at times have disagreements with the way you do things, but hey, its your forum, i'm not part of the staff, so its not my place. But recently its been honestly disappointing to see some of the childishness, both of the members here (the large part of the problem) and in particular Steve's responses to these issues. i didnt know who to send this too, i wanted to bring it up to the general staff, so if you want to move this to the mod forum to keep it free of general comments i understand. i'd be happy to help any way i can, and understand that its a volunteer position, and in general i DO appreciate the knowledge and the different view he brings to the forum. just not the way he goes about presenting it.

This is the last time i'll comment on it, whether something changes or not, you wont hear from me again. sorry to stir the water.

Dave

i agree with you on this post. while steve brings a lot of knowledge to the board, his attitude and reponse is very "hostile" in some cases.

I just saw this thread now. I'll even reply to it too, but not in full until probably after the weekend (busy). For now I'll just say that professionalism, respect, and courtesy are all two way streets. If you want to receive it, you sure as heck better be giving it and that seems to have broken down here lately in more than a few instances. Normally it's just one or two bad apples spoiling the bunch and that's no big deal because it comes with the moderating job, but lately it's gone far and beyond that though.

More later....

Dave, you're a real considerate guy and I hope you didn't take my vendetta comment personally.

I think what has happened in recent months is that a lot of people, who for one reason or another, don't know how V6p.net works. They come in, clutter up threads with useless comments, trash talk, degrade other users, and all together do not respect anyone on this board including its volunteer staff. What you nor I see are the PMs and warnings that go out to these said people that end up being ignored. I admit, Steve can at times have a very condescending attitude towards people, but in all honesty, 99.9% of those people deserve the lashing they receive. I at one time was on that end of the lashing, when I was new. After being p!ssed off for a little bit, I came to realize I was wrong and ended up apologizing to Steve for my verbal bashing and useless name calling.

I can guarantee that most of the posts Steve has issued his verbal backhands, were in fact warrented. Some people cannot handle his sarcasm or his trigger happy behavior. Remember, Steve has people he has to answer to, and all his actions have to be accounted for. W/o his or James' anti-clutter enforcement acts, V6P would be no place you'd would even consider visiting on a daily basis. I really don't believe he, nor any other mod is practicing marshel law here.

I applaud your maturity by bringing this here rather than in the Random Chatter section. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to be a pain in the as$ somewhere.

if you've been wondering why both James and I have been getting really pissy and testy lately, please read THIS thread which explains 50% of it. What Matt said above (#9) hit the nail on the head with for about another 25% of it. The last 25% of it can be summed up pretty well HERE

Sorry to be a bit abstract, but between those it's all covered.
