well finaly finished tail lights, now need to get rid of them so i can buy other stuff for my car. spend total of about 30 hours on them if not more
whats included
2 tail lights
2 sets of lenses ( one is clear, other one is clear with red film over it which can be removed. also can supply 35% tint film if you want to tint them) and second set is OEM lenses (one has crack at top which probably can be fixed with superglue to prevent further cracking or you can swap your own lenses.
1 control module for tail lights
i think thats all

materials used
oem tails
clear tails(for clear lenses)
116 Philips lumileds in each tail light so 232 leds total
Opti-drive - controls "dimming" for marker lights as well as voltage regulator to keep leds running off 12v whether car is on or off. (this also prevents leds from burning out over time from overvoltage)
that's the major parts
more info can be found here http://www.v6performance.net/forums/...ml#post1880804

asking price is $300 OBO

here are pics and videos

so is there a parking light/brake light mode anymore? or is it eliminated all together?

What kind of LEDs are used in this setup?

all oem functions are still there, leds act as parking lights and brake light,
if you want to keep top portion as parking light and brake light thats up to you, turn signal will still be on top. to eliminate top portion as parking light and just use it as turn signal one of wires will need to be cut, i might just put quick connectors on that wire if buyer requests so can be connected or disconnected at any time

LEDs used in this are Philips Lumileds red/orange HPWT-DH00 bin G23 they are 60/50 degree leds, set to run at about 60mA

I think you should provide the link to the build thread of this project. I remember seeing it a while ago.

pretty interested. with cash ready to go

need a lot more pics and info (email [email protected])

1) need daytime pics in sunlight
2) how are the turn signal handled
3) any way you could make 2x LED boards for the inner light. ( like a 5x2 of those 4 led clusters)
4) 2nd lens can be painted red ?

2. turn signal are in stock location using original halogen bulb
4. i guess they can be painted.

3. maybe i dont know if im gona have time. i do have clear center light but didnt do anything with it.
ill try to get day light pics soon

hmm so the turn signal area is not LED
can you also take some day/night pictures with the halogen bulb + LEDs both on. need to see how similar the lightning is going to be since it's going to be a mixture of halogen and LED at the same time

have to tell you now that LED portion will be a lot brighter then halogen, its just no comparison.

relays can be made to make leds work as turn, brake and running lights, thats how i have mine set up now
sorry for bad quality, have to redo the video now that i have HD recording on camera

what you asking if something like this can be made for inner light?

here is the problem
to add those pieces it will take another about 44-60 leds per side so thats 88-120 leds extra. with those leds another one of those circuit boards will be needed which i have but thats extra cost.
curent lights draw 1.74A of power per side, board is designed with 2A max power draw per side so thats why another circuit board will be needed (extra lights will draw about 0.9A
so extra lights will add about $150 to the price
