Finally got around to completing my asian accord grille installation. I bought the grille from a friend in Thailand who works at a Honda there. The chrome hood trim isn't part of the grille. I bought it off ebay for $30. The quality is very good and the 3M tape is SUPER strong. The grille is NOT plug and play. It required tremendous dremeling and patience. There is a tiny gap between the edge of the bottom chrome trim and the bumper. It isn't flush, but it's not noticeable at all. The bumper meets the grille pretty flush a little above the gap, so it's not a problem at all. The mounting of the grille uses the stock snap screws so no new holes or drilling was necessary.

ok, here it is:

My next project is to add foglights. I'm thinking of doing Inspire fogs, but I may just use Lexus GS fogs or the Acura CL fogs since they would be cheaper. But first, I'll have to finish my retro!

DIY

For those of you who bought the asian accord grille here are some steps of what I did to fit my grille. Keep in mind that these pics were taken AFTER everything was modded and assembled. I suggest you mod/dremel each parts separately before assembling all the pieces together. I take no responsibility for anything! haha

First, locate the top right corner of the grille and cut out that corner. repeat to the other end:

In the rear, at the bottom of the back of the "H" emblem, there's a protrusion that needs to be shaved down:

Ok, here's a bunch of step in one picture...
The red area indicates areas of the grille in which chrome tabs from the chrome insert will mount onto the grille. Make sure NOT to cut these little grooves for the tabs. You will JB-Weld or ahdere however you wish the tabs to ensure that the chrome insert stays on the grille.
The green area is where a piece of the grille used to be. I dremeled if off, since it keeps the grille from sitting flush with the bumper.
The blue area is where the grille extends inwards to the bumper, which should be shaved down a bit since it prevents the grille from sitting flush.

This pic shows the side chrome insert with the screw-mounting blocks dremeled off and the edge shaved down since it prevents the grille from sitting flush:

Yes, it's a war zone in the back, but when completed it should be clean and and indentical to stock Asian Accord grille without any fitment issues:

i dont know if it'll fit the 06. it doesn't even fit the 03-05. I had to modify it a LOT. If the design of the 06 is like the asian accords, then it should fit, since that's the OEM grille for the asian accords. You can get it through me. I will have to ask my friend if he's willing to ship another here to the US. He is reluctant to send single items and prefers to send multiple items so he can make a little money for his time and effort. I'll see what I can do.

BTW, it costed me $138.00 shipped to my door from Thailand.

I've started looking for fogs and I think I'm going to go with the Acura MDX or the Lexus GS fogs. I think the MDX fogs will be a little bit bigger than what I have photoshoped. What do you guys think?

first or second?

It would be perfect match for the grille if only they made the Mugen front lip for the accord sedan just like the Acura TSX.

yo i was thinking about fog lights but i wanted some like the 2002 CL, Lexus GS, or the MDX. The Insipre fogs are also very nice. But i was wondering how hard the custom work will be to get it done.
