I looking into adding some mods but there are so many on the market and i would like to know what would be considered the most productive mods by hp and tq gains? i know i know our low end sucks but i would like to improve it if i can b/c off the line every manual takes us. So does anyone have a list of mods that would be considered the best route to go... OH yeah i'm really looking to getting pulleys should i get UR or Aem tru time??? thanks for any help  ;) :)

if you want to overpay for a pipe and filter, get an aem intake. if you want to pay the right price, however, just get a quality ebay intake. headers produce some good gains. youll get the most bang per buck if you go with nitrous.

umm no,

the most affordable way to mod the 6gen AV6 while getting the most NA gains is as follows:

NGK Iridium Plugs-- affordable alternative to densos. ($30)
Greddy Radiator Cap-- affordable mod to help contain high temps ($15)
Mugen T-stat-- A must have for reducing high engine temp ($60)
Mugen Fan Switch-- A must have for reducing high engine temp ($35)
Stock Intake -- remove the resonator,put a K&N air filter($25) in there.
Megan Headers--- most affordable headers, good quality ($175)
Megan Crank Pulley-- Excellent Mod, good quality ($30)
stock exhaust-- agian remove both the pre-muff + and resonator($55)
(screw aftermarket exhaust)

CL-S Cams-- $240

and lastly

Unichip--$600( you also get a free V6P grounding kit with this) !!

this is the proven method for the AV6, unless you are loaded with cash, supercharging is not a viable option. I have this setup minus the unichip( broke right now), and i could not be happier with my car.

thanks, i really appreciate the help lxaccord... everyone keeps stating "get the unichip" so i figured it might be beneficial... sorry off subject but hey would you people reccomend going with 17's or 18's looking at all aspects such as performance wise would their actually be a significant loss to where i'll be able to tell if i go with 18's or should i go with 17's and just lower it which will not cover the wheel gap entirely... either way i go i am lowering.. any help is appreciated...what experiences have you all had with your rims, what there a "great" loss going with 18's...

Sorry That is a waste...

N/A Mods that will actually get you a lil more extra hp/tq IS:

Comptech TRANS COOLER
UR pullies, altenator, AC, and Crank pullies (really all you need is the crank)
CAI- they are extrememly cheap used, or get an ebay brand, they are all the same thing, metal tube and cone filter.
Headers- I went with comptech (USED for 500.00), or go with stone, or alphaworks
Exhaust- That is your prefrence, no exhaust sounds bad for the J30's , I had magnaflows
Spark plugs, NGK Iriduim
This should be your last to N/A mods:

Tuned Apex-i VAFC- this will cost you 300 (Installed, tuned, and Vafc)
CL-S cams 300 bucks..

Then you should get into FI

Comptech SC
Either 6 speed swap or DR Evil Tranny..

AS far as unichip, for 600 bucks for only 10whp / 10 tq that is too expensive, my money is on the VAFC

Hope that helped

well i wanted to keep my low-end, but if you want to sacrifice that and get an exhaust and a aem cai , go ahead.( i could care less)

The MUgen T-stat, and fan switch are well worth even on a NA AV6. A couple of members on ACL did dyno tests with some AV6, TL-P,etc, and after repeated dyno runs, they were still getting consistent results. Without the t-stat, and the fan-switch, some cars lost HP.

i never said that the t-stat, and fan switch make your car gain more HP, there job is to retain what you already have, on average the reduction in engine temp is 10-12 degrees cooler. If cooler temps interest you, then this is the mod to get.

BTW i forgot about the tranny cooler, its a great mod, just don't get the comptech one, its a overpriced pile of metal, get a B&M trans cooler :)

BEST mod i've done to my car is my suspension set up, Eibach ProKit and Koni Yellows, i got it done 2 months after i got my car, it made it look 100X better. All the other performance mods are great too, but unfortuntely, they're not very high on my list, since i believe my AV6 is a lost cause.... LoL

I only care about low end, so these are mods that help throughout the band. There may be more. Here's a list..

Denso ik16''s or ngk irridiums
ur ultra ss (but all you really need is the crank pulley, so maybe Megan?)
headers
short ram intake
better tires?
unichip, if you can afford it

I have the helix throttle body spacer and the transmission cooler/filter, but I dont think they add any mentionable power.
